CHAPTER 1
THE PROBLEM AND IT’S BACKGROUND

The development of AI has advanced exponentially in recent

years with the creation of new groundbreaking
technoloGenAIgies that directly impact on education, at all
levels, such as ChatGPT (Tajik and Tajik Citation2023).
Throughout history, artificial intelligence (AI) has impacted
various aspects of human life and professional industries,
including the field of education, by mimicking human behaviors
and tasks to increase productivity and efficiency (Grudin et al.,
2023; Haenlein & Kaplan, 2019). In recent years, the rapid
changes of advancement on Artificial Intelligence (AI) has
begun to emerged and transformed in many various ways in
education . AI has a potential to change the educational
process of learning to make it more wide to students from
personalized learning experiences that adapt the needs of
individual students.
According to Limna P. Et al (2022) that artificial intelligence has
already entered the education center. Furthermore it is
increasingly used as a digital assistant of teachers and students
in many various aspects. But students are the one who needs
guidance to use these advancements because this technology
gives wide range access on searching in any site about
learning. Educators began to use generative AI to plan
instruction, create materials, and complete daily tasks more
efficiently (Alabool, 2023; Fisk, 2023; Rahman & Watanobe,
2023). Students began to use generative AI to assist with
schoolwork, studying, proofreading, and creating content for
school (Hosseini et al., 2023; Ray, 2023b). Otherwise there are
some risks to take about these new technology, such as safety,
privacy and security. As a result this new digital technology has
a positive and negative effect in the education sector.
AI chatbots like ChatGPT often fabricate one by combining likely
terms that would appear in any such citation for the given
query, resulting in nonsense or distorted references, often
termed “hallucinations.” This article examines suspected
hallucinated citations submitted with freshman-level student
papers or to the library chat helpdesk in spring 2023. It finds
that while most of the suspect citations were indeed
hallucinations, they nevertheless often included some real
information, such as actual author names, book titles, or
scholarly journal names. There is an essential need to
investigate how AI can improve both learning processes and
teaching strategies to promote academic performance. Bancoro
[20] highlighted the importance of further research to recognize
the relationship between AI usage and educational outcomes.
However, not all studies reveal a significant effect of AI on
academic performance, especially in environments with limited
technological engagement.
Some researchers contend that AI cannot entirely replace
human support; when students lack adequate support, they
may not fully utilize AI tools, diminishing their academic
benefits (Jaysone, 2024). In the digital era, artificial intelligence
(AI) has evolved from a mere science fiction fantasy to a
tangible reality that is revolutionizing various aspects of our
lives. In the field of higher education, AI is playing a
fundamental role in transforming the way students learn and
prepare for the future(schiller,2024). Artificial intelligence (AI)
applications in education are on the rise and have received a
lot of attention in the last couple of years. AI and adaptive
learning technologies are prominently featured as important
developments in educational technology in the 2018 Horizon
report (Educause, 2018), with a time to adoption of 2 or 3
years.

According to the report, experts anticipate AI in education to

grow by 43% in the period 2018–2022, although the Horizon
Report 2019 Higher Education Edition (Educause, 2019)
predicts that AI applications related to teaching and learning
are projected to grow even more significantly than this. Contact
North, a major Canadian non-profit online learning society,
concludes that “there is little doubt that the [AI] technology is
inexorably linked to the future of higher education”. The study
of Salido (2023), titled Impact of AI-Powered Learning Tools on
Student Understanding and Teachers’ Performance, discussed
the introduction of artificial intelligence into the field of
education is driving a fundamental shift in the approaches to
teaching and educational practice that are now in use.
The primary purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect
that artificial intelligence-driven educational resources, such as
intelligent tutoring systems and virtual learning environments,
have on the academic performance and comprehension of
students. This shows that AI could assist students to improve
their writing skills. On top of that, AI could facilitate students’
comprehension as it could accommodate students’ learning
skills and ability which could improve students’ learning
experience (Mallillin, 2024). Therefore, it could be summarised
that AI can be treated as digital assistance in students’ learning
process. The present study aimed to assess the potentiality and
apprehensions of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. It also
investigated the challenges of AI integration into education
from the teachers’ perspectives.
A cross-sectional study design was adopted. Through random
sampling, a total of 63 members of faculty were recruited from
Kuwait...(Waleed Alenezi, 2024). AI tools such as ChatGPT have
dominated higher education discourse since being released in
late 2022. While early indications are that AI generated essays
are possible to spot (a common syntax, citations are often fake,
a lack of capacity to focus). AI is changing the education for
ABM students, opens up new opportunities but presents some
challenges as well. Since these students are future business
leaders, their exposure to AI tools is both in the sphere of
academics and professional life. This paper is an effort to throw
a light on ABM students’ perception about AI in terms of
affecting their academic success and difficulties faced by them.
The present research aims at exploring the effect of AI on
learning outcomes and barriers that inhibit effective application
so that educational institutions can improve support for
students learning to use AI technologies.

The dependent variable in our research is ai accurately

measures and enhances students’ attitudes toward learning,
offering deeper insights into the learning process. It also boosts
students’ motivation toward study habits and learning
behaviour. Furthermore, AI’s adaptive learning mechanisms
guide students’ learning processes and provide valuable
feedback (Mallinllin,2022). The independent variable in our
research is the tools and power of analysis among struggling
learners. It provides and allows for improvement of students,
intervention, and academic performance (Mallillin, 2022).
Artificial Intelligence has emerged as an important
transformative tool across different sectors and even in the
academic sector. Regarding academic performance, AI is
perceived to bring positive opportunities for improvement of
learning experience, bettering the performance of students,
and more personalized education. This research article
promotes the attitudes and problems ABM students experience
in relation to the adoption of AI during their academic path.
Examines how students of ABM perceive the role of AI in their
studies and the challenges they face, to understand the
efficacy and limitations of AI in assisting students to succeed
academically in this field.
