Bill Cosby Scandal
Just as easily as stardom comes, it may go just as fast. Regarding this saying, anything contravening
may suddenly come into effect that may lead to the loss of fame to these celebrities for example,
the infamous Bill Cosby scandal performed very recently. In this case we ll bring up a hypothetical
situation of the outcome of when a celebritywould eventually lose his or her fame. There are many
celebrities to tribute this hypothesis to, but It has been decided that the controversial celebrity
revolving around this essay is to consist of the famous popstar Justin Bieber. Furthermore the essay
would consist of how he would most likely react to his eventual loss of fame. Regarding to my
opinion, it would depend on how far off in the future that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a consequence, this is why I have labeled him to be a downward spiraling celebrity if he were
to lose his fame today. However, currently to make up for his past actions, Justin has been
performing remarkable events for the betterment of mankind, and the betterment of his core self.
If Justin continues to eradicate his self handicapping grandiosity of his public self, he just may be
saved and reclassified as a celebrity who reinvents himself. Perhaps when he loses his fame he
may become an architect, a job he mentioned he wanted to become in a press conference when
asked what was his dream job. Many members of the public believe that Justin Bieber is a punk
who would go nowhere if kicked out of the entertainment industry and their clauses are justified
pertaining to past events. However, what the public is uninformed of is the ongoing transformation
of Justin Bieber as he learns to live a more meaningful life rather than a happy ignorant one to better
Symbolism In The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
Analyze how an issue or idea challenged you to alter or develop your ideas
Where men can t live Gods fare no better.
In the Pulitzer Prize Winning novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy, an important idea is the
theme of humankind and our spiritual nature. In a post apocalyptic world, seemingly abandoned
by God, we are shown different ways people react. Some people opt out of any form of morality
or faith, believing God is dead. There are also people like the mother, who kills herself because she
believes there is no point in trying to survive in this world. The father on the other hand struggles to
survive, whilst existentially focusing on protecting his son, who is his own vision of goodness and
virtue. The son takes an existential approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
McCarthy shows us a world where many people take a nihilistic approach, and live life without
morals, trying solely to survive. Others commit suicide, because life in this world would be too
meaningless. However, the man s love for the boy pushes him to keep living, although with limited
morals that extend to protecting his son. The son is portrayed as a good, incorruptible character,
who sticks to his morals. He is McCarthy s return to God without religion. In The Road, McCarthy
poses an important question to the reader: What really lies at the heart of humankind and our
spiritual nature? In a state of disaster, would you abandon faith and/or belief in a God, or would
you find reasons to keep on living? This idea could be related to historic events, such as the Black
Death outbreak of 1348, when peoples views of religion changed drastically. Society fell apart as
many people lived recklessly, abandoning religion because they began to believe there could not
be a God, or he would have put an end to this misery. Many people committed suicide, as it seemed
better than living in fear, waiting for the disease to strike. Much changed in the following years,
including a rise in humanism as people s views of religion changed. However, Christianity still
survives today, and in The Road,
The Merchants Of Cool
In Rushkoff s film, The Merchants of Cool, he rhetorically questions if teenagers even have a culture
to call distinctly their own. In the late 1990 s when the documentary was made, the implication was
that they do not. However, with the internet s advancements and the accessibility of communication
with massive amounts of people, teenagers today can form authentic cultures that are not
contaminated by the corporate media. When the documentary was produced, media exposure was
limited to private and expensive mediums such as television, movies and radio. These outlets were
plagued with marketing agendas designed to sell products under the guise of authentic music and
entertainment. Formerly non existent cultural archetypes such as the... Show more content on

The media chooses to portray and sell sex, violence, drama and role models because it appeals to
teenagers biological and evolutionary instincts. The excessive amounts of sex hormones being
produced in teenagers boosts libido causing displays of eroticism to be very alluring. Scenes of
action or violence release adrenaline and endorphins for emotional stimulation and teen idols like
NSYNC and Edward Cullen portray the ideal mate for many girls. The music presented is mostly
homogenous and simple to promote familiarity and emotional response. Had these businesses
tried to sell celibacy, indifference and pariahs, their profits would have declined. In The Merchants
of Cool, Rushkoff goes to a teenage party to survey rising trends and notices a strange
phenomenon. The girls dancing in front of his camera seemed to be selling the same exaggerated
sex appeal that corporations were selling to the teenagers. He labeled this sensation a sort of giant
feedback loop which implied that, since corporations try to mirror teenage behavior and then pervert
that into a more explicit version to sell back, which in turn causes teenagers to emulate the
corporation s behavior, teenagers are incapable of having a genuine culture to call their own, much
like the young
Learning To Read And Write By Frederick Douglass And...
Learning a new set of skills can be off putting and come with many difficult challenges. In the
excerpt, Learning to Read and Write by Frederick Douglass and Learning to Read by Malcolm X
it discusses each mans challenges to be literate as black men in America. Though set almost half a
century apart, hardships occur as both strive for greatness. Through their use of diction, details,
and language each speaker differentiates themselves from each other and forms their own unique
way of sharing their story. In the two excerpts the two men use diction to expose their character
and evoke emotions in the reader. Frederick Douglass describes his first challenge, when
abandoned by his mistress s teachings and he has to come up with ways to become familiar with
reading. The plan which I adopted, and the by which I was most successful, was that of making
friends with all the little white boys whom I met in the streets . BY choosing to say this Douglass
then makes himself seen like a strong independent man. When things get tough he doesn t give up
he simply finds another way to get it done and that is impressive. While Douglass uses diction to
empower himself Malcolm X uses diction to lower his ego and describe himself before learning to
read, In the street, I had been the most articulate hustler out there I had commanded attention when I
said something. But now trying to write simple English I not only wasn t articulate, I wasn t even
functional . BY sharing this specific
Structural Racism In Canada
Literature review In this paper the role of the HCPs, in regards to not providing ethically safe care
to AP will be explored. As the literature was reviewed there were many themes that came to the
surface. For the purpose of this paper I will discuss the three themes, which I found throughout the
literature which give a bit of historical context as to why HCPs may have an implicit bias towards
AP, the emotional burden it puts on AP, and its impact on health within this population. Structural
Racism and its Impact on Implicit Bias Structural racism is at play in general within Canadian
mainstream culture (Reading, 2014, p. 4; Registered Nurses Association of Ontario [RNAO], 2002,
para. 2). Meaning, that it is understood that structural... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition this law made it so that people considered to be Indians could not control their land,
their property, the resources on their land and in turn their culture. Ultimately, this was a racist law
which was put in place to control and segregate AP to instill, in AP as well as NACs, that AP were
to be considered less than the remaining population. This put AP in a position to experience many
inequities in regards to; health, education, employment legal rights (owning property/assets) when
compared to NACs (Allen Smylie, 2015, p. 6; Reading, 2014, p. 5). The Indian Act produced an us
vs. them, mindset in regards to why NAC feel disconnected to AP and their culture (Bourassa,
Mckay Mcnabb Hampton, 2004; Loppie et al, 2013, p. 2). The negative stereotypes that this
population has to overcome, in part due to the Indian Act, are things such as them being; alcoholics,
addicted to drugs, without a job to support them, and dangerous (Reading, 2013, p. 3). Stereotypes
highly influence the way people of the dominant culture group, (NACs), understand, view, and

Three Estates In Relation To The French Revolution
Three Estates in Relation to the French Revolution Feudal society was traditionally divided into
three estates, around the time of the French Revolution. The first estate was known as the church
(those who prayed) or the clergy. The second estate was the nobility (those who fought), during the
time the nobility consisted of knights. The third estate was the peasantry or the commoners(those
who supported those who prayed and fought). The three estates were ruled and controlled by the
royalty or the king. At the time there were 27 million people in France; society had been lead and
based on inequality since the middle ages. In fact the inequality in France is one of the long term...

As a matter of fact, the peasants were seventy five to eighty percent of the population. The third
estate owned the majority of the land in society at thirty five to forty percent. Although, there was
a large amount of land owned by the third estate. Regardless, over half of peasants have not land;
peasants had obligations to landlords including fees for the use of of village facilities. In the third
estate, the city workers were poor and worked for poor wages in poor conditions. Bourgeoisie was
the middle class in the third estate and were eight percent of the population. The bourgeoisie owned
twenty to twenty five percent of land and were educated. The bourgeoisie had read the ideas of the
Enlightenment; upset with the monarchical system resting on privilege and the old social order. As I
studied the picture, I concluded that the third estate was in poverty while being abused and
controlled by the first and second estates. The middle estate acts to provide food products for society,
but the other estates decided to take advantage of the middle estate and their attributions. Finally, the
third estate decided enough was enough and called a meeting of themselves to draw up a
constitution; the National Assembly. Eventually, when they arrived at the designated meeting place
they discovered that the doors to the building were locked. As a
The Storm by Kate Chopin
The first thing I noticed about Kate Chopin s The Storm, is that it is utterly dripping with sexual
imagery and symbolism. Our heroine, if you will, seems to be a woman with normally restrained
passions and a well defined sense of propriety, who finds herself in a situation that tears down her
restraint and reveals the vixen within. I wonder if it was intentional that the name Calixta makes me
think of Calypso the nymph from Greek mythology. If half of the sexual symbolism I found in this
story was intentional, Chopin was a genius. I was quite taken with the sexual imagery of the colors
mentioned: white, and red. There is also mention a place called Assumption, while there s nothing
written on it in the bible, I believe it s the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s no secret that storms bring a unique energy, something that is almost primal in nature. Animals
react to coming storms because of this energy, I once had a cat who would pounce all over the
house in the hours before a storm arrived, when the storm hit, he would sprint from room to room,
his tail bushed out like a bottle brush and his pupils so large you couldn t see the iris. As the
storm builds in its fervor and ferocity, tension and passion build between Calixta and Alcée to
match. It begins with the gusts of wind that threatened to snatch away the clothing that was
outside, hence Alcée grabbing the trousers, and follows as the water beat in upon the boards in
driving sheets, then the rain beat upon the low, shingled roof with a force and clatter that
threatened to break an entrance (Chopin 336). The language grows more telling in that just after
there is mention of something threatening to break an entrance, Chopin describes Calixta s
bedroom. The fact that it adjoins the room they re in is completely unnecessary, unless there s a
reason for the reader to be aware of the bedroom. As the storm rolls on, Calixta goes to the
window where she stands when the lightning bolt strikes a tree in the field. Lightning is a glorified
spark, I believe this symbolizes the spark of passion renewed in both of our adulterers as the story
Macbeth Negative Influences
Everyone is influenced by their surrounds, and the people they choose to be around, whether they
are being influenced in a positive or negative way, in Macbeth s case, he was highly negatively
impacted. Macbeth starts out as a good person, and good soldier, true to his king, that is, until he
meets the weird sisters who predict he himself will be king. With the influence of his wife, he
becomes treacherous, and no longer has a know between right and wrong. By the end of the story,
Macbethwas so caught up in his ambitious power hungry circle that he ended up getting killed by
it, after having just about everyone turn on him. The negative influences that affect Macbeth for
the worst throughout the story happen to be his wife, his conscience, and three weird sisters he
meets one day in a field; all of these influences change Macbeth for the worst, causing turmoil all
throughout the story. Lady Macbeth urged her husband to do some terrible things, but once it
got later in the story, Macbeth took control over his own actions on his downhill spiral of
treachery. When Macbeth told his wife that the King would be visiting their house, she responded
with ... 0, never Shall sun that morrow see! (Doc B). Not only was this a questionable response,
but she then proceeded to force Macbeth to do the physical murder by telling him he was not a
real man, and once Macbeth had done the deed of killing Duncan, she told him My hands are of
your colour; but I shame To wear a heart so white (Doc C). Lady Macbeth soon becomes
consumed with guilt, Whenever, then, we find that the memory of a criminal act, however
successful and enduring in its issues it may have been, awakens a repentance and moral detestation
so consuming that for no single instant is it absent from the mind of the criminal, and that self
abhorrence leads to insanity and suicide... (von Rumelin). Lady Macbeth was the person who
pushed Macbeth off the edge causing him to turn to even more tyranny, send him on a killing spree,
become full of ambition, and way too power hungry. Not only did lady Macbeth urge her husband
to start his terrible journey by killing the king, later she was too overwhelmed with all the guilt
knowing she was the cause of many murders,

This is because many diseases are caused by infection through skin. Therefore, I emphasized
much on my own personal hygiene. For instance, I always do hand washing and showering with
soap and water after all activities. It is because soap is effective in washing away the germ and
bacterial which can cause serious illness if you didn t do thoroughly. Another way is maintain a
healthy body to reduce the risk of being sick. I often go for medical check up regularly to ensure
that my body is at its best state. It is because by going to medical check up can detect early
symptoms of deadly disease such as cancer and heart attack. Therefore, I normally go for medical
check up twice a year to maintain a healthy body. Moreover, exercise is also helps to stay healthy

Arundel Partners Investment Analysis Essay
Arundel Partners Investment Analysis
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Background
The proposed business venture, Arundel Partners, is an investment group which would purchase
the sequels rights associated with all films produced by 1 or more selected U.S. movie
production studios for a specified period of time, or a specified number of films. As your
investment analysts, our goal is to assess the value of the sequel rights to allow a determination of
the value of the overall investment as well as a reasonable price per film for the sequel rights.

A sequel is typically released to theaters 3 years after the orignal film s initial release. Sequel
rights also expire 3 years from the films initial release. Note that Arundel must declare, based on the
profitability of the first release, whether or not it will produce the sequel, prior to the expiration of
the rights at year 4.
RECOMMENDATION
Based on our valuation of the investment, as outlined below in the Analysis portion of the report,
we have determined a per movie value of $8.9 million when considering purchasing the rights to the
entire portfolio of 99 movies analyzed in the sample data. Based on production of 10 sequels, the
per movie value of the portfolio would be $52.25 million. Our calculations based on the hypothetical
portfolio is that Arundel Partners should make this investment as long as the present value of the
expected cash flows from the sequel revenues exceeds the cost of production plus the cost of the
investment. Depending on what value a studio will accept as payment per sequel, there appears to be
significant profitability in the investment.
ANALYSIS
As with all options there is more potential profit if the value of the underlying asset is very volatile.
Purchasing sequel rights prior to release of the films
FPD Canines Definition
The report also indicates that the FPD uses canines not because it is necessary to protect themselves
or others from violent offenders, but to punish offenders, without due process rights, and because the
culture perpetuates a sense that the officers do not need to use any skills or tactics to reduce injury,
but to use methods that ultimately ensure that pain and injury occur:
They appear to use canines not to counter a physical threat but to inflict punishment. They act as if
every offender has a gun, justifying their decisions based on what might be possible rather than
what the facts indicate is likely. Overall, FPD officers use of canines reflects a culture in which
officers choose not to use the skills and tactics that could resolve ... Show more content on

First of all, only two respondents officially contributed in the survey portion of this research.
Further research on this phenomenon should include multiple agencies across the country to
compare agencies with official policies of community oriented policing and agencies with other
models of policing. Furthermore, significantly more respondents should participate in surveys to
provide more perceptions from a diverse group of respondents. In addition, this article does not
address all forms of policy and practices in the criminal justice system that adversely and
disproportionately affect persons of color; mass incarceration, the war on drugs, felony
disenfranchisement, just to name a few. Nor does it dig deep into brutal history of systemic
oppression and how these historical consequences of European colonization, genocide of the Native
