DENIZENS PREMIER LEAGUE

Rules and Regulation

GENERAL RULES:

1.​ Sledging: Allowed and encouraged, but no offensive language or curses.


2.​ Footwear (Football): Shoes or barefoot only; no studs allowed.
3.​ Referee’s Decision: Final and non-negotiable.
4.​ Respect the Referee: Harassment leads to penalties for the team.
5.​ Bribery is strictly prohibited (and doesn’t work anyway we tried, lol).
6.​ Disputes: Referee communicates through team captains only.
7.​ Students admitted through the sports quota for a specific sport will not be
permitted to participate in that sport during this event.
8.​ Ex-Denizens are allowed to play
9.​ THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE: Everyone should participate in at least one
sport.

CRICKET:

1.​ A total of 11 players should be present in the field at the designated time, failing
which the team will be disqualified. Out of the 11 players, only 9 will be allowed to
take the field at the time of bowling (the rationale behind the same is to ensure that
the field isn’t too crowded and there is sufficient scoring opportunities for batsmen).
Two extra substitutions are also allowed.
2.​ Only proper bowling action (full arm) is permitted.
3.​ A minimum of four bowlers should be used per innings. Only two bowlers can bowl
three overs each.
4.​ Umpires’ decision will be final and binding.
5.​ Each innings will be of 10 overs.

FOOTBALL:

1.​ A total of 11 players should be present in the field at the designated time,
failing which the team will be qualified. Five extra substitutions are also
allowed.
2.​ Referees’ decision will be final and binding.
3.​ Match duration shall be 40 minutes, that is, 20 minutes per half. Excluding injury
time.
4.​ In case of equal points, on the basis of Goal Difference (GD), winners will be
decided.
5.​ In case of equal GD, Goal Scored (GS) will be considered, Highest is preferred (PK
Shootout won't be counted)
6.​ In case of equal GS, we’ll go for head to head record or otherwise a toss.

VOLLEYBALL:

1.​ A total of 6 players should be present in the field at the designated time, failing which
the team will be disqualified. Three extra substitutions are also allowed.
2.​ Referees’ decision will be final and binding.
3.​ Each match will be of 3 sets of 25,25,15 points.

KABADDI:

1.​ Team of 7 players necessary


2.​ One Team for each year members
3.​ Necessary to Chant kabaddi while a raid
4.​ Raid will be performed by each team consecutively
5.​ Raid points given to the raiding team depends on the number of defenders
touched by the raider along with bonus if made according to allowed means.
6.​ To get a bonus one leg of the raider should cross the bonus line while the
other leg stays in air only when no touch has been committed.
7.​ Two halfs within a court 6.5m * 10m each
8.​ Gap between centre line and baulk line 3.75m
9.​ Gap between baulk line and bonus line 1m
10.​Gap between bonus line and back line 1.75m
11.​Lobby on both sides of court with width of 1m, entry into the lobby by the
raider or defender without any touch or contact between them leads to
elimination of the player whether from the defending team or raider.
12.​ Bonus (+1 point) allowed to the raiding team when number of defenders on
the court equal or more than 6.
13.​Any part of body outside the back line during the raid by the raider or defender
leads to elimination .
14.​Player has to cross the baulk line in order to make a safe return even without
a touch point .
15.​Super Tackle allowed , i.e , when defenders on the court are equal to or less
than 3 and they are able to perform a successful tackle, i.e , stop the raider in
their court, 2 points will be awarded.
16.​Do or Die raid which is a raid after two consecutive raid by the raiding team
irrespective of the player without a touch or bonus point, i.e , an empty raid.
Getting a touch point or bonus is necessary in this raid.

DODGEBALL:

1.​ Teams: 10 Launchers (throwers) and 3 Dodgers in the middle.


2.​ Formation: Launchers form a circle; Dodgers stay inside.
3.​ Duration: Each round lasts 10 minutes.
4.​ Substitutions: Unlimited rolling subs allowed for both teams.
5.​ Dodger Elimination: If all 3 Dodgers are hit, the next set replaces them.
6.​ Switching Roles: Teams swap roles after 10 minutes.
7.​ Scoring: Launchers earn 1 point per legal hit (below the waist only).
8.​ Winning: The team with the most points after both turns wins.
9.​ No Headshots: Hits above the waist are invalid and discouraged.

BASKETBALL:

1.​ 3 players in one team; 2 substitutes


2.​ Half court format
3.​ Point System will be 1 from inside the arc and 2 from outside the arc
4.​ In case of a foul, the possession will change and the offender defends
5.​ On changeof possession, the carrier will have to exit the arc then attack
6.​ Out of bounds will lead to a switch in possession, and the team in advantage will be
starting from outside the arc
7.​ Each team will have one time out
8.​ First to 21 points win

TUG OF WAR:

1.​ All matches will be knockouts.


2.​ Every match will take place in the best of 3 format.
3.​ Each team should consist of 9 players
4.​ No substitutions will be allowed fo

CARROM:

1.​ Teams: 2 players per team


2.​ Setup: 9 white coins, 9 black coins, 1 red queen arranged in the center circle.
3.​ Turn Order: Players alternate turns in a clockwise direction.
4.​ Objective: Pocket all your team’s coins (white or black) before the opponents, Queen
must be covered.
5.​ Queen: Must be covered immediately after pocketing, or it is returned to the board.
6.​ Striking: Striker must be played from the baseline. Half ball is a foul.
7.​ Fouls: Pocketing the striker, hitting opponent’s last coin, or if any coin goes off the
board, the offender’s coin will be picked out of the pocket and placed at the centre
8.​ Placement of the coin for fouling will be decided by the next player.
9.​ Winning: First team to pocket all their coins, with the queen covered, wins.
10.​Advances will be decided by Best of 3
11.​If you pocket the last coin as well as the queen in one shot then, the pocketing of the
black coin in the same shot automatically covers the queen, Since you have no
remaining coins to "cover" the queen (as it’s your last shot)

CHESS:
1.​ All the matches, except the finals and semi-finals, shall be a rapid 10-minute game.
2.​ Castling shall be allowed.
3.​ Referees’ decision will be final and binding.

TABLE TENNIS:

1.​ Each game shall be played for 11 points, set of 3 and final of 5 set.
2.​ Referees’ decision will be final and binding.
3.​ Touching the table surface with the non-paddle hand will be considered a foul, and
the opponent will be awarded the point. However, touching the table with your racket
or the paddle hand, shall not be considered a foul.

MINI MILITIA:

1.​ Map : Outpost


2.​ Mode : CTF
3.​ Duration : 15 mins
4.​ Number of players : 4 per team
5.​ Shield not allowed
6.​ Side to be decided by toss
7.​ No mods
8.​ Opponents will check the device for any mod.
9.​ If there’s a disconnect during a match, the games will be restarted, scores resettled
and play for the remaining time only
10.​In case of a tie, a death match will follow for 8 mins and the team with most kills will
advance (Map: Catacombs)

FIFA 23:

1.​ Game mode: 2v2


2.​ Each playing team will select a football club that they would be playing for all the
stages
3.​ Home and Away will be decided by a toss
4.​ Game Settings:
○​ Referee setting: Moderate
○​ Injuries: on
○​ Handball: off
○​ Offside: on
○​ Duration: 5 mins each half
○​ Difficulty: World Class
5.​ Celebrations are permitted and encouraged
6.​ In case of draw, we will head to PK in earlier rounds, extra time will be introduced in
semis and final
7.​ For each progressing round, the duration will be increased
8.​ If there’s a disconnect during a match, the games will be restarted, scores resettled
and play for the remaining time only ( for eg if the glitch happens at the 50th minute
then post restarting the teams will get only 40 mins of playing time)
BADMINTON:

1.​ All games will be knockouts


2.​ Mode: 2v2
3.​ Each game shall be played for 3 sets of 11 points each
4.​ Finals will be played for 3 sets ofc of 21 points each
5.​ Referees decision will be final
6.​ Keep in mind that timings for these matches will be in accordance to that of
Sports Complex so be punctual and and delay in reporting will result in a
walkoff
ATHLETICS:​

1.​ 4x100m relay


2.​ There will be only four representatives of each year
3.​ Do I really need to explain the rules for this one?
