Open File Explorer using one of the following methods:

1. Press the Windows logo key + E.

2. Find it from the Start menu (Windows 7 or Windows 10).

Click the File Explorer icon.


File Management:

File Explorer provides a graphical interface for navigating


the file system on a computer.

File and Folder Organization:


It displays files and folders in various formats like icons,
lists, and details, making it easy to organize and locate
content
Quick Access:
File Explorer can be customized with "Quick Access" for
frequently used folders, making them readily available

The Back, Forward, and Up Buttons let you navigate the


different screens you browse in File Explorer. Clicking the
Back button returns to the last page viewed. Clicking the
Forward button moves forward again after pressing the
Back button. If you click the Up button, you move up a
level in the folder hierarchy shown in File Explorer.
The many Tabs within the Ribbon appear at the top of
File Explorer. All your file and folder management
commands appear here. After selecting an item in the
Files and Folders listing in File Explorer, the available
commands appear on the tabs in the Ribbon. Clicking the
tabs shows the functions in each group.

Search Box , To find a specific file or folder in a selected


folder location, use the Search Box. To do this, start
typing the name of the file or folder into the Search Box.
The Address Bar shows the currently selected location in
your computer or network. You can also click into the
Address Bar and enter a folder location, if desired. The
Files and Folders listing shows the contents of the
currently selected Address Bar location.

The Navigation Pane at the left side of the File Explorer


window lets you select folders, drives, and also navigate
your network’s computers, folders, and files.
How to create a new folder in Windows
Explorer

1. Open Windows Explorer.


2. Select the drive that the new folder should
be created in.
3. Select New Folder icon from the Quick
access bar.
4. Type in appropriate name for the folder.
Press Enter.
