CHAPTER V

Summary, Conclusion, and Recommendation

This chapter summarizes the key findings from interviews with

Grade 11 HUMSS students, highlighting the challenges affecting

their academic performance, including motivation, time

management, and support systems. It concludes by analyzing how

these factors influence their learning outcomes. Finally,

recommendations are provided to help improve student

performance and create a more supportive academic environment.

Summary of the Problem

Although many students encounter difficulties that result in

poor academic performance, Grade 11 HUMSS students' academic

performance is a crucial indicator of their overall development and

educational progress. This problem is caused by a number of

external factors, including as the effectiveness of the teacher

or classroom setting, as well as internal issues, such as a lack of

passion, bad study habits, poor time management, and little

parental support. In order to identify the underlying causes of poor

academic performance, this study aims to investigate these

contributing elements in detail. The study intends to provide useful

insights to create focused plans and interventions that eventually

improve academic achievement and personal development by

recognizing these aspects.

Salient Findings

In this study, the researcher's findings indicate that failing

grades are caused by various of interrelated factors. These results

show that a variety of environmental, social, and personal factors

that affect students' learning experiences. Furthermore, it also

emphasizes the essential role of peers, teachers, and parents, are in

helping children get better at what they do.

1. Students struggle with unfinished assignments or test

preparation can result from many students' inability to

manage distractions such as social media, gaming, and peer

activities further consume the time they should be dedicating

to studying.

2. Maintaining motivation and practicing time management

help students finish assignments more quickly and with

higher quality. However, students who are unmotivated or do

not manage their time effectively frequently experience

stress, which results in hurried, unfinished, or subpar work.

3. Better learning experiences can be created by supportive

teachers who offer encouraging feedback, interesting

lessons, and clear direction. Friends can also promote group

activities by encouraging cooperation, providing moral

support, and exchanging ideas. But according to some

students, these support networks aren't always available,

which makes it harder for them to ask for assistance when

they need it.

Conclusion

A combination of personal habits, mindset, along with external

support systems influence the academic performance of Grade 11

HUMSS students. One of the biggest challenges is time

management; students frequently find it difficult to balance their

schoolwork with extracurricular activities, family duties, or personal

leisure time. Fostering a pleasant learning environment to provide

students with the resources, support, and encouragement they need

in order to overcome academic obstacles. Students who maintain

their drive and discipline are more likely to finish assignments

quickly and generate better work, therefore motivation itself is quite

important. Students are more capable to improve their

performance when these components can combine

Recommendations

This study explored how time management, motivation, and

support systems influence the academic performance of Grade 11

HUMSS students. A few areas were evident as possible future

research, and the suggestions below are as follows:

Students. Urged to prioritize assignments, create organized

schedules, and cut down on distractions in order to better handle

their obligations. Asking for advice can assist output while also

lowering feelings of stress. In addition, to be better equipped to take

charge of their education and make more mindful academic

decisions when they are aware of how these elements affect their

performance.

Teachers. Gain a deeper understanding of the specific

challenges that HUMSS students face. Providing clear instructions,

regular feedback, or academic support can help students manage

their workload, stay motivated, and build confidence in their

abilities.

Parents. Develop a greater awareness of the academic

struggles and pressures their children experience. By understanding

the key factors contributing to low academic performance, parents

can offer more meaningful, targeted support. This includes providing

emotional encouragement, assisting with time management

strategies, and ensuring access to additional learning resources

when needed.

Future Researchers. Use this study as a foundation for

exploring similar topics related to academic performance among

senior high school students. Future research could dive deeper into

the long-term effects of time management and motivation across

different academic strands, or investigate how psychological stress,

socioeconomic background, and digital distractions contribute to

performance.
