A Walk in the Woods

Characters:
Markon: Little Red Riding Hood(Narrator)
Yohanna: Hansel

Narrator: Little Red Riding Hood bravely walked through the woods, unaware of
the danger that lurked beneath the trees. Only, if only she had listened to her
mother’s warnings…

Hansel: Hey, my Stepmother always used to say that.

Narrator (Little Red Riding Hood):

(pausing and looking at Hansel with curiosity)
Oh? And who might you be, little boy?

Hansel:
I’m Hansel, from Hansel and Gretel. I’ve been in these woods before, but I hope I
never have to return to my stepmother´s house. It’s a strange place, isn’t it?

Narrator (Little Red Riding Hood):

Oh, Hansel, I’ve heard of your story. A wicked witch trapped you and your sister,
weren’t you? How did you survive?
Hansel:

We outsmarted her, of course! The old witch didn’t know that we were cleverer
than she ever thought. Me and Gretel and had to work as a team to figure out the
tracks, and of course we found the breadcrumbs following a trail
Narrator
(Little Red Riding Hood):
(laughs softly)
Ah, I should´ve known. I followed a certain wolf into my grandmother’s house
without a second thought. That didn’t end so well for me.

Hansel: Ah,
yes. That wolf! He’s been causing trouble for a long time, hasn’t he? At least you
had the woodsman to help you. I don’t think the witch ever had anyone to come
to her rescue.
Narrator (Little Red Riding Hood):
Well, the woodsman did save me, but we still faced danger before, when the wolf
jumped inside the chimney to eat all of us

Hansel:
That’s true! Without danger, there’s no adventure. No one would tell stories about
people who just walked through the woods without anything happening. But still, I
think sometimes we learn more from the tough parts than from the easy ones.

Narrator (Little Red Riding Hood):

(nodding thoughtfully)
You’re right. It’s the danger that teaches us to be brave, and the trials that make
us stronger. Though, I could’ve done without the wolf.

Hansel:
Ha! And I could’ve done without the witch! Maybe next time, we both should stay
closer to home.

Narrator (Little Red Riding Hood):

Or maybe… we could walk together, and avoid the dangers altogether. What do
you think?

Hansel:
Sounds like a plan after all!

Narrator (Little Red Riding Hood):

Then let’s go, Hansel. Together, we’ll make sure the woods stay as safe as they
should be.
