SELF INTRODUCTION (FOR STUDENTS/FRESHERS)
This instruction is for the students who are studying or freshers. Basic knowledge for the preparation of
an introduction (basic level) requires a lot of practice and repetition of oral exercise. Don’t worry I will
teach you how to introduce your self to someone in just 1 minutes.
Introduction includes the following topics-
1. GREETINGS- Never forget to greet the audience/ listener.
DON’Ts DOs
Don’t haste Feel comfortable.
Don’t use slang or informal words like dud, Use formal words like- Hello, good morning,
guys, hi etc. good evening, etc.
Don’t make odd gestures Wear smile and keep good posture.
EXAMPLE- (YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING)
i. Good morning Siz/Ma’am.
ii. Hello everyone.
iii. Good morning to all the respected chair persons.
2. NAME- While speaking your name or opening your interview, note that you should know the
‘don’ts and dos’-

Don’t use ‘Myself’ I am Archana Sharma.
My name is Archana Sharma.
Don’t use nick name speak full name
Don’t make haste. Speak clearly.
EXAMPLE- (YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING)

introduce myself. OR

3. FAMILY (YOU MAY ESCAPE THIS POINT)
DON’Ts DOs
Name of parents without title Use ‘Shri’ for father’s name and ‘Smt’ for mother’s name.
No nick name Write or speak full name of your parents.
Give brief/one-line statement about your parents.
No details of siblings only add numbers if required
EXAMPLE-(YOU CAN CHOOSE EITHER OF THE FOLLOWING)
i.
My father’s name is Shri Shiv Swaroop Sharma and he is a retired government officer.
My mother’s name is Smt Maheshwati Sharma and she takes care of our family. I have
two elder brothers. OR

4. EDUCATION
DON’Ts DOs
Don’t give Unsystematic account. Follow the timeline pattern.
Either start from latest to the earliest or
earliest to latest.
Don’t give Incomplete information. give complete and accurate details
Don’t give irrelevant information. Speak clearly.
Don’t hide any thing worth mentioning. Be honest if gap year is there.
EXAMPLE-
i. I passed my class 10th in with (…%...) in (….year…) from (….school..) affiliated to
(….Board…) and class 12th in (…stream…) with (…%..._) in (…year…) from (….school…)
affiliated to (….Board…).
Then I opted (….stream…) for my graduation and passed with (…%...) in (….year…) from
(….college..) affiliated to (….university…).

6. HOBBIES

Don’t give irrelevant hobbies Give relevant hobbies
Don’t give unconstructive hobbies like ‘sleeping/ shopping’ Give constructive hobbies.

Don’t give unnecessary information. Speak very briefly.

7. AIM
DON’Ts DOs
Don’t be unrealistic. Be very much practical.
Don’t boast about it. It should match to your present status.
Don’t use inappropriate body language. Speak confidently
