1 INT: HOUSE NIGHT

On a Hot July night the wind blows gently through an open

curtain while insects like musicians outside play a pre
morning symphony The family dog Bartholomew makes his nightly
patrol through the house and into a bedroom where and mrs
Matson are sleeping

Lingering a Beat at the open window, he sniffs. His senses

detect something in the air

Aroused he circles the bed without barking then Retreats

sleeps soundly.

The house is still and quiet John and mrs. Roundtree are
asleep as Bartholomew makes his regular nightly Patrol
throughout the house stops for a beat at Jasmine's room then
to mother's room and finally to John and mrs. Roundtree's
bedroom Lay's at the foot of the bed as though waiting on
something he hears a noise in the kitchen and trots to
investigate sniff the air for that familiar scent then
suddenly starts to back away barking looks around for

9 INTERIOR BEDROOM

Mr. And mrs. Sleep beside each other John sweating profusely
tosses turns and in a deeper sleep an apparition begin he's
in a dark alley two men Exit bar an argument begins taller
Caucasian man tosses the other against the wall pulls a
machete Fromm behind lifts arm to swing but is caught.
Unexpected by a barrage of bullets striking him in the chest
He falls like a stiff board to the ground the shooter looks
around no Witnesses searches the victim pockets for money
finds a small stash of cash pockets it, notices a small gold
locket around his neck snatches of and takes off running into
the dark alley

John awakens sits up in bed mrs. Roundtree still asleep jumps

out of bed calls out for 4 Bartholomew who comes running
urges John to follow they move to the kitchen he finds the
kitchen stove on gas burner on High looks around the kitchen
notices the window open shuts it signals Bartholomew they
leave the kitchen on he checks on Jasmine in her room fast
asleep and mother in another room pets Bartholomew heads back
again mrs. Roundtree waking up

MRS. ROUNDTREE
John you having trouble sleeping again

JOHN
No it's Bart heard something in the
kitchen

She falls backward limp on her pillow after a few beats is

Mrs. Roundtree and mother are up having coffee in the den

She opens the dds closing the door. It locks just as the
stranger reaches for the handle. In the stranger hands are a
long hunting knife He slides it under his coat There the
sound of a stopwatch going off

flight of stairs He hears a noise like breaking glass and
turns to see a dark figure coming through the window It

Knife the one in his former dream He uses it to pry the lock
on the door and ease it open

John runs Right through him and heads into the bedroom where
