Change Display Mode

There are two display modes, which can be selected by the "Mode 1"
(MODE1) and "Mode 2" (MODE2) button.

Mode 1

Mode 2

6
In display mode 2, relative wind direction, relative wind speed,
maximum wind speed, and average wind speed are displayed, and the
angle graph in the center of the screen is the relative wind direction.
In display mode 2, relative wind direction, true wind direction, relative
wind speed, and true wind speed are displayed, and the angle graphic in
the center of the screen is the relative wind direction.
"Relative wind direction" shows the wind direction relative to the ship.
Always use the direction pointing to the bow of the ship as 0°; the " true
wind direction" uses the north as the reference, and the north direction is
the 0° of the wind angle, When the heading information cannot be obtained,
the true wind direction is displayed as "---" as a reminder.
"Relative wind speed" displays the wind speed relative to the ship's
speed; "True wind speed" displays the wind speed based on the ground.
When the heading and speed cannot be obtained, the true wind speed is
displayed as "---" as a reminder.

Select Wind Speed Unit

Press the "Unit" key to set the wind speed unit to "m/s", "km/h", "knots".

Average Wind Speed and Maximum Wind

Speed

The "Average Wind Speed" function can display the average wind
speed in a recent period of time, and the "Maximum Wind Speed" function
can display the maximum wind speed in a recent period of time. Time can

7
choose 1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes.
Find the "Avg Time" item in the “Function Display” area. If there is no
item, press the “Function Selection” key until the item "Avg Time" is
displayed. Press “Left” or ”Right” key to select "Avg Time", then press “Up”
or ”Down” key to set time.

Set Wind Speed Alarm

Find the " Wind ALM" item in the “Function Display” area. If there is no
item, press the “Function Selection” key until the item " Wind ALM" is
displayed. Press “Left” or ”Right” key to select " Wind ALM", then press “Up”
or ”Down” key to set value.
When the wind speed less than or equal to the set alarm value, the
following warnings will be issued:
⚫ Wind speed digital flashing;
⚫ Warning sound (If sound status set to “On”);

When alarming, press any key to stop the warning sound and release
the alarm state of the alarm port, but the current digital flashing state
cannot be stopped.
When the wind speed greater than the set alarm value again, all the
above alarm states are automatically released.

Power Failure Alarm

The power supply has two input ports, which can be connected to the
main power supply and auxiliary power supply at the same time. When any

8
power supply fails, the following warnings will be issued:
⚫ "Power Failure" appears on the screen and flashes;
⚫ Warning sound;
⚫ Alarm port in alarm state.
When alarming, press any key to stop the warning sound and release
the alarm state of the alarm port, but the "Power Failure" flashing state
cannot be stopped.
After troubleshooting, all the above alarm states are automatically
stopped.

Note: Power failure alarm can function normally only when the Power
check function is turned on. Otherwise, the power failure alarm function is
invalid.

Power Check

Find the "Power check" item in the “Function Display” area. If there is
no item, press the “Function Selection” key until the item "Power check" is
displayed. Press “Left” or ”Right” key to select " Wind ALM", then press “Up”
or ”Down” key to turn this function on or off.

<3> Wind speed value;
<4> Wind speed unit, K=km/h, M=m/s, N=kont;
<5> Status, A= Valid, V= Invalid.

Note:
The "relative wind direction" sentence will be continuously output, the "True
wind direction" sentence is controlled by the "Ture output" option in the
function options.

15

installed using the adapter mounting bracket and two screws in the
attachment.

18
Sensor Installation

Install Wind Cup and Vane

Install the wind vane on the top of the sensor bracket, then install the
sealing ring, flat washer, spring washer, and nuts (two). Make sure the nuts
are tightened! Finally insert the split pin.
Install the wind cup on the bottom of the sensor bracket, then install
flat washers, spring washers, and nuts (two). Make sure the nuts are
tightened! Finally insert the split pin.

19
Install Sensor
The sensor should be installed where wind can pass freely. The
diameter of the installation support pipe is between 35 and 60 mm to
ensure that there is no obstruction within the radius of 550 mm of the wind
vane and wind cup.
