1. Introduction to Vectors

2. Types of Vectors

3. Dot Product

4. Cross Product

5. Question/Practice
Vector: A quantity that has magnitude as well as direction is called a vector.
Initial and terminal point.
Triangle law of vector addition.
Vector joining two points
Visualize using area of triangle
Direction Cosines, direction angles
Types

1. Zero Vector: A vector whose magnitude is zero and its direction arbitrary.

2. Unit Vector: A vector whose modulus is unity.

3. Equal Vectors: Same magnitude and direction regardless of the positions of their initial points.

4. Negative Vector: Same magnitude as the given vector a but opposite direction.

5. Coinitial Vectors: Vectors having the same initial point are called coinitial vectors.

6. Collinear Vectors: Vectors having the same of parallel supports.

7. Coplanar Vectors: If they lie in the same plane or their supports are parallel to the same plane.

8. Like and unlike vectors: Vectors are said to be like when they have the same sense of direction

and unlike when they have opposite directions.

Section Formula: Internal Division and External Division
External Division
Product of Two Vectors: Multiplication of two vectors is also defined in two ways, namely, scalar (or
dot) product where the result is a scalar, and vector (or cross) product where the result is a vector.

● Based upon these two types of products for vectors, they have found various applications in geometry,
mechanics and engineering
