INSTALLATION PROCEDURES OF SQL AND VINPLUS
Introduction
This is an “Installation Guidelines Document” for SQL &VinPlus. It provides the
Details of Installation of SQL, VinPlus, Parser Service, Convert API Service and Database.
Definitions / Acronyms
DB – Database
API – Application Programming Interface
SQL – Structured Query Language
RAM – Random Access Memory

System Requirements
• Intel Core 2-Duo and above
• 2 GB of RAM (Minimum 1 GB of RAM) - Recommended
• Operating System – Microsoft XP (latest version OR with latest Service Pack)
• [Link] Framework 2.0(2.0.50727.42)
• Microsoft Excel (MSOffice 2003 and above)
• Operating System – Microsoft Windows Server Edition/XP/2000.
• Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005
SQL is a database server for the VinPlus, so first you need to install the SQL and then the VinPlus
in your PC. The installation procedure is shown below along with the screen shots.
Double click on the SQL [Link].

The following window will open.
1. Click on the checkbox to accept the terms and conditions.
2. Click on Next.

3. Click on install.
4. The following window will appear. Wait until the progress bar fills

5. Click on next
6. Now it will scan your PC configuration. It will take few minutes wait for the next window.
7. The following window will appear.

8. Click on Next.
9. Click on next.
10. Now the installation will continue as shown below.

11. In the next window it will ask for the name and company name of the user. Enter the name as
you required. The name can be anything. For example :- L & T and L & T
12. Now it will show the services which are provided in this setup.
13. You should install the SQL l in default location. And click on next to proceed.

14. In the next step it shows the mode, you should select the mixed mode for the security purpose
of the software.
15. In this mode you should enter the password.

16. If the OS is XP then the password is vinplus.
17. If the OS is Windows 7 then the password is vinplus@123.
18. In the next window all are mandatory conditions to accept. Just click on next.

19. Click on next.
20. Click on install

21. Now it starts to install all supporting file of SQL. Wait for the complete process, it will take some
time.

22. After the completion of installation click on finish.
23. Now the SQL installation is over.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURES OF VINPLUS
1. Double click the setup to start the installation. The window will appear as shown below.
2. Click ‘Next’ as shown in Fig.2.

3. Read User License Agreement carefully & check “I accept the terms in the License
Agreement” option. Click ‘Next’ as shown in Fig.3.

4. Refer Fig. 4. Here you can customize the installation i.e. you can select or omit Services
such as Parser Service, Convert API Service, DMLS Service and DLMS SANDS MRI Service
before moving ahead for installation. Click ‘Next’.
5. Now click Install to install the customized application as shown in Fig. 5. Now the
installation will start as shown in Fig. 6.

6. The installation window will show Installation progress as shown in Fig. 6, 7 and 8. Wait
until Installation completes.
7. Now following window will appear as shown in Fig.9 below.

8. Fill User Id, Password & Data Source as shown in Fig. Now if user wants to create a new
“Vinplus” database then select “Create New DB” option & fill “Database File” path using
browse button.
Note: The User ID & Password details of Microsoft SQL Server that VinPlus application
Accesses will be as per the Database configurations. For any changes in Database
Configuration, it should be updated in [Link] file of VinPlus through Edit Configuration
Option provided in VinPlus.

9. The database should be creating in C-drive. The below figures shows how and where to save the
database file. Go to C-drive
24. Create new folder.
25. Name it as VinPlus and open it.

26. Save the file in name of “vinplusdb”.
10. Now click on start.

11. Now it will show the process of creation of db as shown below.
12. Instead of creating a new “Vinplus” DB if user wants to update an existing “Vinplus”
database then you should select “Update Existing DB” option as shown in Fig. 11(a).
(Note: This selection of “Update Existing DB” option is applicable only for versions
above VinPlus Ver. 1.0 Rel 12. For VinPlus Ver. 1.0 Rel 12 & below, user should select
“Create New DB” option)
13. Click OK.

14. Now click “Start” button.
15. Click OK. Then existing “Vinplus” database will get updated without deleting an existing
data in it.
1. Now it will show the process of creation of db as shown below.
2. The installation of vinplus is completed. At end click on finish.

3. After installation is completed, the folders for Convert API operation & Parser operation
will be created at VinPlus installation path namely “Convert” & “Parser” respectively as
shown in figure.
Note: All initial configurations will be done by the setup itself.
