Du’a for protection from evil
Here are some du’as that are taken from the hadiths of the Prophet ()ﷺ
to protect oneself from black magic & some instructions to save oneself
from any evil that might bring us harm. Our Prophet ( )ﷺused to
constantly seek Allah’s refuge and shelter from evil, and he taught us to
make the following du’as:
1. Du’a for protection from devils, insects, and the evil eye:
Can be recited at any time, such as in the morning & evening:
ِمْن ُكِّل، َأُعوُذ ِبَكِلَماِت اللِه الَّتاَّمِة
َوِمْن ُكِّل َعْيٍن اَل َّمٍة، َش ْيَطاٍن َّوَهاَّمٍة
Translation: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah, from every
devil and poisonous pest, and from every harmful eye. [Sahih
Bukhari]
2. Du’a for protection from every evil that brings harm: 3 times in
the evening (Sunnah), we can also recite in the morning.
َش َك ُذ
ُعْو ِب ِلَماِت اللِه الَّتاَّماِت ِمْن ِّر َما َأ
َخ َلَق.
Translation: I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the
evil of what He has created. [Sahih Muslim].
3. Dua for protection against every kind of harm: 3 times in the
morning & evening (Sunnah).
ِبْس ِم اللِه اَّلِذْي اَل َيُضُّر َمَع اْس ِمِه َش ْي ٌء
ِفي اَأْلْر ِض َواَل ِفي الَّس َماِء َوُهَو الَّس ِميُع
اْلَعِليُم.
Translation: In the name of Allah, with Whose name nothing on earth
or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
[Sunan Abi Dawud]
Some sources of protection against black magic from the Qur'an:
4. Surat Al-Baqarah) Once every three days)
5. Ayat Al-Kursi.

6. Surat Al-Ikhlas Surat Al-Falaq Surat Al-Naas. (3 times in the
morning & evening)
The Prophet ﷺsaid: "Say Qul huwa-llaahu ahad and the
Mu'awwidhatayn (Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Naas), in the
evening and morning three times, they will suffice you (as a
protection) against everything." [Sunan Abi Dawud]
7. Surat Al-Falaq, Surat Al-Naas.
The Messenger of Allah ( )ﷺused to seek protection against (the
evil of) the jinn and the evil eye, until the Mu’awwidhatayn (Surat
Al-Falaq and Surat An-Naas) were revealed. After they were
revealed, he took to them (for seeking Allah's protection) and left
everything besides them. [Sunan Tirmidhi]
