General Course Objectives:
To understand the basic electronics on which analysis and design of electrical and
electronic circuits and systems are based, including lumped circuit, digital and
operational amplifier abstractions
.

To learn how complex devices such as semiconductor diodes and field-effect transistors
are modeled and how the models are used in the design and analysis of useful circuits.

To design and construct electronic circuits, take measurements of circuit behavior and
performance, compare with predicts circuit models and explain discrepancies

▪ Electronic devices are components for controlling the flow

of electrical currents for the purpose of information
processing and system control.
▪ Prominent examples include transistors and diodes.
▪ Electronic devices are usually small and can be grouped
together into packages called integrated circuits.

▪ Semiconductor Diodes can be defined as diodes that
are made up of semiconducting materials (typically, the
metals silicon and germanium are used in them).
