This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to
help you master the Install Consumer Electronic Rechargeable &
Electronic Controlled Lighting Units. The scope of this module permits it
to be used in many different learning situations. The language used
recognizes the diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged
to follow the standard sequence of the course. But the order in which you
read them can be changed to correspond with the textbook you are now
using.

The module is divided into two lessons, namely:

Lesson 1 – Familiarization in Using a Multi-meter

Lesson 2 – Assembly and Disassembly of Rechargeable & Electronic

Controlled Lighting Units

After going through this module, you are expected to:

1. Use Testing devices by standard procedures

2. Install consumer electronic products and systems by manufacturer’s
instructions, requirements, and without damage to the surrounding place
or environment
3. Undertake final inspections to ensure that the installed device conforms
to technical requirements.
Arrange the statements below in order using the alphabet A-H based
on the proper procedure in preparing disassembly and assembly of
electronic products.

1. ________ Ensure the workplace is free to any hazards.

2. ________ Follow simple rules in disassembly “remember all parts where it

belongs”.
3. _________ Prepare all necessary tools for the task or job.

4. ________ Secure a product manual if necessary or available.

5. ________ Prepare the workplace for the task or job.

6. ________ Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

7. ________ Practice 5S or clean the workplace after.

8. ________ Ensure all parts are back properly before testing.

Lesson Assembly and Disassembly of
Rechargeable & Electronic
2 Controlled Lighting Units

This lesson introduces the Assembly and Disassembly of Rechargeable and

Electronic Controlled Lighting Units. This will help you to understand the
importance of having proper skills in assembly and disassembly of the appliances or to
install consumer electronic products.

Assembly and Disassembly are the most important skills that the student should be
learning in electronics servicing. Being skilled in assembly and disassembly means
taking care of appliances upon repairing, it is important not to break any parts of the
case and circuitry during repair and maintenance. So, this skill is a must in electronic
servicing and doing a job.

PREPARATION IN ASSEMBLY AND DISASSEMBLY

1. Prepare the workplace for the task or job.

2. Ensure the workplace is free from any hazards.
3. Prepare all necessary tools for the task or job.
4. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
5. Secure a product manually if necessary or available.
6. Follow simple rules in disassembly “remember all parts where it belongs”.
7. Ensure all parts are back properly before testing.
8. Practice 5S or clean the workplace after.
STEPS IN DISASSEMBLY OF RECHARGEABLE & ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED
LIGHT

1. Discharge or unplug the rechargeable and electronic controlled light to avoid

electric shock.
2. Locate the back cover or panel to remove all the screws.
3. Use appropriate screwdrivers and remove screws
4. After removing screws, inspect if the back panel is clip-on, use a frying tool to
unclip the back cover or panel.
5. Check the internal circuit component of rechargeable and electronic controlled
light.
a. Light Section
b. Charging Section
c. Battery Section
d. Sensor (for electronic controlled light)
6. Secure and labeled remove part of rechargeable and electronic controlled light.
7. Inspect for any damage or defective component.
8. Remove and replace the damaged or defective component.
9. Clean the circuit board, front and back cover, or panel.

controlled light.
2. Replaced, attached, and soldered defective components or parts to the board.
3. The last part to remove is the first part to attach to the rechargeable and
electronic controlled lighting unit.
4. Position all removed parts inside the rechargeable and electronic controlled light.
5. Fastened by screws the part of a circuit board of the rechargeable and electronic
controlled light.
6. Attached the back cover or panel and clip-on.
7. Screw the back cover or panel properly.
8. Clean the dirt or stain of rechargeable and electronic controlled light and polish if
needed.
9. Charge the rechargeable and electronic controlled light for few minutes.
10. Test and turn on the rechargeable and electronic controlled light if working
properly.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IN USING RECHARGEABLE & ELECTRONIC
CONTROLLED LIGHT

1. Do not direct the light of the rechargeable and electronic controlled lighting unit
to the eyes.
2. After each uses clean the rechargeable and electronic controlled light with a
clean soft cloth.
3. Avoid frequent disassembly of the light bulb, so as not to damage the reflector or
bulb.
4. Remove the battery if will not use it for a long time and place it in a cool and dry
place.
5. Avoid placing in direct sunlight or a high-temperature environment if not in use.
6. Battery precautions to avoid the explosion.
a. Do not connect the battery terminal wrongly
b. Do not soak in water.
c. Do not throw to fire.
