Good [morning/afternoon/evening], I’m Karishma Yadav, an MBA student, and I’d like to
share my summer internship experience with Tejraj Grroup, Pune.
The Indian real estate market today is valued at more than USD 482 billion and
contributes about 7.3% to the nation’s GDP. The residential segment dominates,
accounting for almost 79% of the market. Pune, in particular, is one of the
fastest-growing hubs. In just the first half of 2025, the city sold nearly 44,000 flats, and
real estate here is expected to grow by around 13% annually.
In this dynamic market, Tejraj Group is a well-established player, and I was fortunate to
intern with them for two months. I worked on three flagship projects — Westmont,
Vivanta Nest, and Palm Springs — as part of the pre-sales and sales team. My role
covered the entire sales funnel, which gave me a very practical and hands-on learning
experience.
I started with prospecting, where I made outbound calls, introduced projects to
potential buyers, and generated initial interest. Next, I was responsible for scheduling
and conducting site visits. During these visits, I presented project features, walked
clients through model flats, and explained cost structures clearly. I also prepared and
shared detailed cost sheets and project information, so that clients could make
well-informed decisions. Finally, whenever a client showed genuine interest in buying, I
handed over their details to the sales manager for closure.
Over the course of my internship, I pitched to more than 1,500 prospects, converted
20-25 of them into site visits, and built strong engagement with clients. My efforts
directly contributed to closing real estate deals worth ₹1.5 crore. This was a huge
achievement for me and gave me real confidence in my ability to work in a
high-pressure, target-driven industry.
Through these responsibilities, I gained firsthand exposure to how a structured sales
funnel works — right from creating awareness to converting interest into actual deals.
The internship became a true bridge between theory and practice. Concepts I had
studied in class, like marketing communication, negotiation, and relationship
building, came alive during client interactions.
I also realized the importance of strategic project positioning, transparent pricing,
and smooth client handovers as key success factors in such a competitive market.
Overall, this internship not only improved my sales and communication skills but also
gave me valuable insight into how the real estate industry functions in a fast-growing
city like Pune. It was an enriching experience that has prepared me well for future
challenges in the business world.
WIP Script
Good morning, and thank you for the opportunity.
I would like to share my one-month internship experience with ABFRL – Pantaloons,
one of India’s leading retail clothing chains.
To set the context, the retail sector in India is not only one of the largest globally but
also a vital part of our economy. It contributes almost 10% to the nation’s GDP and
ranks among the top 4 retail markets worldwide. By size, India’s retail market has
expanded to an estimated ₹82 lakh crore, growing at nearly 9% annually. Within this
vast industry, Pantaloons has built a strong presence with over 2 million square feet of
retail space and a network of 1,187 brand stores across the country.
During my internship, I got exposure to both front-end and back-end operations. On
the front-end, I worked in the kids’ department, handled the billing counter, and also
helped in the launch of Forever Glam lipstick by directly engaging with customers and
promoting the offer. Through these efforts, I was able to generate a revenue of around
₹1.1 lakh within one month, which was a big confidence booster for me.
I also learned about visual merchandising, which in Pantaloons happens very
frequently – almost 24 drops in a year – to keep the store fresh and appealing for
customers. This made me realize how much impact display and presentation have on
consumer buying behavior.
On the back-end side, I got to see warehouse operations in detail, including stock
inward and outward movement, generating trip sheets, and handling BOD orders. I even
assisted in a global inventory count with the Operations Manager and learned how
inventory and supply chain processes are managed for a brand of this scale.
Overall, this one-month internship gave me practical insights into customer
interaction, sales promotion, merchandising, supply chain, and inventory control.
More importantly, it gave me a holistic view of how both marketing and operations come
together to make a large retail brand like Pantaloons run smoothly.
This experience has strengthened my interest in marketing and retail management, and
I am confident that the skills I have gained—especially in generating revenue, engaging
customers, and understanding operations—will help me create value for your
organization.
Self Introduction
I’m Karishma Yadav, currently in the second year of my MBA in Marketing at PIBM, Pune. I am
22 years old and originally from Kasrawad, a tehsil in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh.
I completed my schooling — SSC and HSC — from Shree Gurukul School, Kasrawad, and
later pursued my BBA in Marketing from Medi-Caps University, Indore. My interest in
marketing started during my school years, when I often took the lead in organizing events. I
enjoyed working with people, solving problems, and ensuring things went well — and that
interest naturally grew into a career path in management and marketing.
I come from a humble family background, with my father working as a government employee.
From an early age, I learned adaptability and resilience, which helped me adjust to challenges
and connect easily with people from diverse backgrounds.
At PIBM, I chose Marketing because of its strong focus on industry-driven training and
practical exposure. This decision gave me opportunities to apply my learning in real-world
settings.
During my WIP with ABFRL – Pantaloons, I worked on retail operations, customer
engagement, and merchandising. A highlight of this internship was interacting directly with
customers during new product launches, and through these efforts, I was able to generate about
₹1.1 lakh in revenue within one month. This experience not only improved my sales and
communication skills but also gave me confidence in my ability to drive measurable results.
Later, in my SIP with Tejraj Group, Pune, a mandate real estate firm, I worked on client
engagement, market research, and pitching real estate projects. One of my proudest
achievements here was successfully closing two real estate deals worth approximately ₹1.5
crore combined. This was a milestone for me, as it showed how my learning could directly
contribute to high-value business outcomes.
Together, these experiences — in retail and real estate — gave me a strong understanding of
both customer behavior and strategic sales. They also taught me how important it is to combine
creativity with practical execution to achieve results.
If I describe myself, I’d say I am creative, adaptable, and result-oriented. I enjoy
problem-solving, learning through challenges, and building strong connections with people.
Beyond academics, I pursue hobbies like dancing, drawing, and cooking, which help me stay
creative, balanced, and energetic.
Looking ahead, I am eager to bring my skills and learning into a professional role where I can
create value for the organization while also continuing to grow in this dynamic business
environment.
Thank You
Why Should a Company Hire Me?
If I talk about why you should hire me, I’d say it’s because I bring both marketing
knowledge and proven results.
At PIBM, I built a strong foundation in consumer behavior, sales, and client
engagement, and I’ve already tested these skills in real business situations.
During my WIP with Pantaloons (ABFRL), I focused on customer interaction,
merchandising, and driving footfall — and I was able to generate around ₹1.1 lakh
revenue in just one month.
Later, in my SIP with Tejraj Group, Pune, I worked on client engagement, market
research, and sales strategies. Through this, I successfully closed two real estate
deals worth about ₹1.5 crore combined.
These experiences gave me confidence that I can translate classroom learning into
measurable business results.
As a fresher, I am now looking for the right platform where I can showcase my skills
and apply my theoretical knowledge to create impact.
I went through your JD carefully, and I feel the requirements match perfectly with the
skillset and learnings I’ve built during my MBA and internships.
I would describe myself as adaptable, creative, and result-oriented, someone who
enjoys problem-solving and connecting with people.
I believe I can bring both strategic thinking and strong execution to the table.
With the right opportunity, I am confident I can contribute to your organization’s
growth from day one.
