INTRODUCTION

Commentator: Good afternoon brothers and sisters in Christ, John Ariel and
Kathleen have invited us here today to share in the celebration
of their marriage. We come together not to mark the start of a
relationship, but to recognize a bond that already exists. This
marriage is one expression of many varieties of love, and this
is how the couple will consummate their love.

Let us then offer our thanks to God for having led them
together in this love. Let us pray that He may bless and
consecrate their commitment to each other and that John Ariel
and Kathleen may freely and lovingly take upon them the task
the Lord has entrusted to them, to live for each other and their
children, their family, their relatives and friends on their road
through life to God. Let this day be memorable for all of us, for
the Lord have given us the blessing in witnessing this
occasion

Please remain seated for the processional.

PENITENTIAL RITE

Celebrant: Dear friends, we are gathered here today to celebrate the

banquet of life, and the fount of love which Christ has
given in the Eucharist and to witness the beginning of
a new life together for John Ariel and Kathleen As we
prepare ourselves to celebrate the mystery of Christ’s
love, let us pause for a while, acknowledge our sins
and ask the Lord for pardon and strength.
All: I confess to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in
what I have done, and in what I have failed to do, through my
fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault;
therefore, I ask Blessed Mary, ever-Virgin, all the Angels and
Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the
Lord, our God.

Celebrant: May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
and bring us to everlasting life.
All: Amen.

to be joined by the Sacrament of Matrimony, may grow in the

Commentator: Please be seated for the Liturgy of the Word

LITURGY OF THE WORD

Commentator: Love has the noblest place in God’s plan and in the Old
Testament the nuptial union between a man and a woman is
its greatest expression.

FIRST READING

Lector: A reading from the book of Genesis 1:26-28.31

God said, " Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness
of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea,
the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild beasts and all the
reptiles that crawl upon the earth,” God created man in the
image of himself, in the image of God he created him, male
and female he created them. God blessed them, saying to
them, " Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth and conquer it. Be
masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven and all living
animals on the earth." God saw all he had made, and indeed it
was very good.

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM (PS 32:12,18.20-22. R. V.5)
Reader: Let our response be:
The Lord fills the earth with his love
Kindly repeat.

All: The Lord fills the earth with his love.

Reader: They are happy, whose God is the Lord, the people He has
chosen as His own. The Lord looks on those who revere Him,
on those who hope in His love.

All: The Lord fills the earth with his love.

Reader: Our soul is waiting for the Lord; The Lord is our help and our
shield. In Him do our hearts find joy. We trust in His holy
name.

All: The Lord fills the earth with his love

Reader: May your love be upon us, O Lord, as we place all our hope in
you.

All: The Lord fills the earth with his love.

SECOND READING

Commentator: In his letter, St. Paul tells us that to love is more important than
to perform miracles or to do great things for others. For
without love all that we do can become meaningless.

Lector: A reading from the First Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians (1
Cor 12:31-13:8a)

Be ambitious for the higher gifts. And I am going to show you a

way that is better than any of them.

If I have all the eloquence of men or of angels, but speak

without love, I am simply a gong booming or a cymbal
clashing. If I have the gift of prophecy, understanding all the
mysteries there are, and knowing everything, and if I have
faith in all its fullness, to move mountains, but without love,
then I am nothing at all. If I give away all that I possess, piece
by piece, and if I even let them take my body to burn it, but am

without love, it will do me no good whatever. Love is always

patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is never boastful or
conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offence
and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's
sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to
trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not
come to an end.

This is the word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

Commentator: Please rise to honor the Holy Gospel.

ALLELUIA (to be sung)

GOSPEL

Celebrant: The Lord be with you.

All: And with your spirit.

Celebrant: A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark

10:6- 9
All: Glory to you, O Lord.

Celebrant: Jesu said:

s
“Fro the beginning of creation,
m
God made them male and female.
For this reason, a man shall leave his father and
mother and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh.

So, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore

what God has joined together, no human being
must separate.”
Celebrant: The Gospel of the Lord.
All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus

Christ. Commentator: Please be seated for the

homily.

Ariel and Kathleen, let us lift up our prayers to God

Lector: For the newly-wed couple, John Ariel and Kathleen that they

make it grow stronger in their life together. We pray…

with each passing day, and remain faithful to their marriage
vows forever. We pray…

All: Lord of Love, hear our prayer.

Commentator: We will now have the presentation of gifts. Kindly be seated.

your goodness, we have received the bread we offer
you: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will
become for us the bread of life.

Celebrant: Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your
goodness we have received the wine we offer you:
fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will
become our spiritual drink.
All: Blessed be God forever.

VEIL AND CORD CEREMONY

Commentator: Please be seated. (John Ariel ) and (Kathleen) please kneel

May we request the Veil sponsors to come forward and lay the
veil on the newly-wed couple.

John Ariel and Kathleen this white veil reminds you of the
white garment with which you were clothed in Baptism. Now, it
stands as the symbol of your submission to the Lord. Let it
therefore be a constant reminder that you belong entirely to
the Lord and to each other and to no one else.

May we request the Cord Sponsors to come forward and lay

the cord.
John Ariel and Kathleen, the cord is a symbol of God’s
binding love. Through the years, may your love grow stronger
and bind you closer to the Lord and to each other.

Commentator: Please stand.

Celebrant: Pray, brethren, that my sacrifice and yours may be

acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
All: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise
and glory of his name, for our good and the good of all his holy
Church.

PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS

Celebrant: Show favor to our supplications, O Lord, and receive with

a kindly countenance the oblations we offer for these
your servants, joined now in a holy covenant, that
through these mysteries they may be strengthened in
love for one another and for you. Through Christ our
Lord, Amen.

All:

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

Celebrant: The Lord be with you.

All: And with your spirit.

Celebrant: Lift up your hearts.

All: We lift them up to the Lord.

Celebrant: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

All: It is right and just.

Celebrant: It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always
and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy Father,
almighty and eternal God. For you willed that the
human race, created by the gift of your goodness
should be raised to such high dignity that in the union
of husband and wife you might bestow a true image of
your love.
For those you created out of Charity you call to the
law of Charity without easing and grant them a share
in your eternal Charity. And so, the Sacrament of holy
Matrimony, as the abiding sign of your own love,
consecrates the love of man and woman, through
Christ our Lord. Through him, with the Angels and all
the Saints, we sing the hymn of your praise, as
without end we acclaim:
All: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of Hosts,
Heaven and earth are full of your
glory Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest

Commentator: Please remain standing for the consecration.

Celebrant: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending
down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that
they may become for us the Body and + Blood of our
Lord, Jesus Christ.
At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into
his Passion, he took bread and, giving thanks, broke
it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT, FOR
THIS IS MY BODY, WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR
YOU.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the
chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to his
disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT,
FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE
BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND
FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

Celebrant: The mystery of faith.

All: We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your
Resurrection until you come again.

Celebrant: Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and

Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and
the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have
held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to
you.
Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and Blood
of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy
Spirit.
Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the
world, and bring her to the fullness of Charity together
with Francis our Pope and Gilbert, our Bishop and all
the clergy.
Remember also our brothers and sisters who have
fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all
who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the
light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that
with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with the
blessed Apostles, and all the Saints who have
pleased you throughout the ages, we may merit to be
coheirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you
through your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through Him, and with Him, and in Him, O God

almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory
and honor is yours, forever and ever.
All: Amen.

Celebrant: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the
sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the

only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
