The LOST CONTINENT OF MU / LEMURIA

Some scientists in the 1880s and 1890s such as Thomas Huxley, P. L. Sclater, Ernst
Haeckel among others, studying the distribution of animals and flora in general, found both in

On his part, the French abbot Charles-Etienne Brasseur de Bourbourg, a scholar and enthusiast of
the Legend of Atlantis, would discover in 1864 a writing made in 1560 by the bishop of
Yucatán, Diego De Landa on Maya culture.

In this document, De Landa deciphers the hieroglyphs related to the Maya calendar, and

Brasseur uses the alphabetical signs provided by De Landa to 'translate' and the Tro-Codex.

Augustus Le Plongeon, an explorer and researcher, at that time took on the task of conducting
excavations in the ruins of Yucatán (Mexico), reporting that in four Mayan inscriptions
found among them, the Tro-Corteciano Codex. Based on what was written by Brasseur, Le Plongeon

same mythical continent that Plato spoke of, named Atlantis.

The lost continent of Mu has been searched for by explorers, lovers of the unknown and
mystery hunters; like the retired military man James Churchward, who in his books claims to have
met a an Indian priest who had several stone tablets with writings in Naacal, which
Churchward Cree was the native language of the inhabitants of Mu.

According to Churchward, the first humans correspond to the natives of Mu, and date back to
about 200,000 years, becoming a culture with more knowledge and advancements than those achieved

Mystics and 'researchers' have interwoven the name of Mu as an abbreviation of Lemuria, and
they have linked supposed historical facts between Lemuria/Mu and Atlantis, in an attempt to
"to elucidate" great lost civilizations, which supposedly may constitute the root of the genre
human, even taking into account the opinion of several authors, interference of extraterrestrial presence in
our planet. All these stories have something in common; they belong to the literary industry
of occultists and 'investigators' of the mysterious.

This is a translation of an article I found about James Churchward and his book titled
The lost continent of Mu, who was the one who started the whole mess in this area.

In 1868, Colonel James Churchward, who was a British army officer in India, became
friend of the high priest of a Hindu temple, who taught him several sets of ancient tablets of
clay that had been hidden in the temple vaults for several centuries, abandoned by the
temple priests throughout the years.

With the help of his new friend, Churchward learned how to decipher the inscriptions of the
ancient tablets. As she translated them, she realized that she had stumbled upon the incredible story
of a great lost continent, which was the first great civilization on earth. They spoke of a
great civilization that had risen, flourished, and declined long before all the known ones
by scholars. It was the great continent of Mu, the motherland of all the races of the earth.

For many years, Churchward followed the footsteps of this mysterious new civilization through the confines of
the earth, putting together all the pieces of a great puzzle. Then it began acquiring more and
more information and a wonderful image began to form. The impressive figure of a vast
the continent of the Pacific Ocean and its inhabitants came together. The final result of the immense work of
Churchward's surprising book 'The Lost Continent of Mu'

Sadly, after its first appearance in 1926, it became the subject of mockery and criticism from the
archaeologists of those days, and very few took their discoveries and theories seriously.

an inscription in a ruined temple that commemorates "The Lands of the West, from where we come"
and a pyramid was built in the southwest of Mexico City, according to its
registrations, in memory of the destruction of "The Lands of the West" -- My note: I think that it
refers to Xochicalco

Fourthly, Churchward found that there was universality of certain symbols and customs.

In his time, Churchward could not have known about the underwater ruins found by the

Hancock explored the structures made by the hand of man carved into rock, with terraces and
stairs that look like a pyramid, with a length of 200 meters, precisely on the north-south axis.
In other places in the Pacific, near the islands of Tahiti, Tonga, Ponape, Kosrae, Guam, Rota and
There are similar constructions that await closer investigation.

In Search of Atlantis or MU, the Lost Continent!

Swedish geographer proposes a new theory about the location of Atlantis in Ireland...
SWEDISH SCIENTIST SAYS THAT IRELAND IS THE MYTHICAL ATLANTIS!

Atlantis, wrote the Greek philosopher Plato in 360 BC, was an island in the Atlantic Ocean where it
developed an advanced civilization about 11,500 years ago, until it was struck by a cataclysm

Atlantis, the legendary island nation whose existence has been debated for thousands of years, actually
it was Ireland, according to a new theory by a Swedish scientist...

The geographer Ulf Erlingsson, who explains his theory in a book that will be published next month, says
that the calculations, geography, and landscape of Atlantis described by Plato almost exactly coincide
mind with Ireland.

I am surprised that no one has thought of this before... Just like Atlantis, Ireland has
300 miles long and 200 wide and is wider in the middle. Both have a central plain.

I suspect that the myth came from Ireland and derives from Dogger Bank. I believe that the memory of Dogger
Bank was probably preserved in Ireland for about 3000 years and mixed with the history of the
Atlantis, Eringsson links the limits of the Atlantic Empire, as described by Plato, with the
geographical distribution of megalithic monuments in Europe and North Africa.
It says that the temples of Atlantis match known cemeteries in Newgrange and Knowth,
in North Dublin, which are older than the Pyramids of Egypt.

Erlingsson's book, 'Atlantis from a Geographer's Perspective: Mapping the Fairy Land,' calculates
that the probability that Plato had access to information about Ireland is 99.98%
one hundred.

Previous theories about Atlantis have suggested that it may have been around the Islands
Azores, about 1,500 km to the West of the coast of Portugal or in the Aegean Sea.
Others locate it only in the brain of Plato!

Introduction
The notion of a lost continent beneath the Pacific Ocean seems absurd. But there are many stories and
Books that refer to such a place. Colonel James Churchward wrote five books about the continent.
lost Mu (also called Lemuria).1-4

Later we will discuss Churchward's works. There is even a group called 'The Community'
Lemuriana - The Lemurian Fellowship, located in Ramona, California, which has published this concept.

Psychic Information
The map in Figure 1 is likely of psychic origin. The interesting thing is that it shows that portions
from the distant Lemuria northeast were located in the west of America. This seems to resonate with the
next reading of Cayce.
Before we find that the entity was in that land, now known as the Americas, during
those periods when the changes that caused the sinking of Mu or Lemuria occurred, in the periods
they changed what is now part of the Rocky Mountains area; Arizona, New
Mexico, portions of Nevada and Utah.

The entity, then, was among the princesses of the land who had established the teachings there.
Law of UNITY, of the activities on earth that brought destructive forces through
separations of those things made for the love of the individual, for gratifying or selfish reasons.

Then the entity established what could be called homely life in that land, since each home
then transformed into the castle of the place of worship – or activities that were separate, however
united in purpose. The name, then, was Ouowu.

We then have the story of Phylos, a disembodied master who was channeled by F.S. Oliver in
1883.5Anything one can think of the psychic readings of Edgar Cayce, Phylos was
involved in being a credible source in one of them (# 364-1). In his book, Phylos talks about a previous life in
Lemuria. He describes 'small strange horses, which had three toes on each hoof and high shoulders,' a
grandiose house built of stone, and a man with brown skin, his hands looked like claws.

The readings of Cayce refer to a lost continent in the Pacific by several names, but more to
then is called Lemuria. Three names are Mu, Zu, Lu, and possibly Oz. Some of these may
to refer to provinces on the continent, or to portions left after a significant disintegration of the
earth.

Here are three representative readings.

Before this, we found the entity on the land now known as the American continent, during
the periods when the Lemurian lands, or the lands of Mu and Zu were in their tumult of destruction.

And the entity was among all that – in what is now not very far from that land in which the entity,
on her journey she first saw the light [the woman asking for the reading was born in the area of Santa Rosa/Petaluma,
California - (is, in the near future it should disappear again when this land transitions to the land of
(Mu) - established a place of worship for those who had escaped the turmoil of change.

moon; since the moon's satellite at that time had not disappeared... and there it was imposed on the entity in
worship as the goddess of the moon and the sun...

Which 'satellite of the moon?' How did it 'disappear?' By impacting the moon? In what location? Was this a
natural satellite or a man-made satellite? If it was man-made, what was it used for?
Navigation and/or communication? By whom and for whom? Were aliens involved?6

Here are the second and third examples of the numerous readings of Cayce that refer to the
lost continent of the

Lemuria:
Before we find that the entity was in that land known as Mu, or the vanished land.

This aspect of the references to Lemuria from the readings resonates in the book, Atlantis in the
Last Days7It is said that the work was an inspiration dictated to Mr. Randall-Stevens by two teachers.

Randall-Stevens writes that the destruction of Lemuria occurred approximately 30,000 years ago.

The submergence of Lemuria must have had global geophysical consequences. The date of 30,000
A.P. coincides with the second period of disturbance in Atlantis, when "small had occurred"
channels through many of the lands" (420-22).

But reading 364-4 seems to imply that the final demise of Lemuria occurred perhaps only 10,700 years ago.

Scientific Information Suggesting that Lemuria Once Existed

Can science shed any light on the possible reality of Lemuria? Do we have evidence that the soil of

Consider the review by Marcia McNutt from May 1998, titled Super-elevations.8

We have heard about critical locations that invoke narrow, isolated elevations from the depths of
the Earth, like the critical location produced by a thermal plume that some geologists believe was
the responsible party for the Hawaiian island chain. Such a critical location is surrounded by a seabed
rather superficial, less than about 1,000 km in diameter, called an 'elevation, sectioned
transversely.

It is believed that a 'super-elevation' reflects mantle elevation. But it expresses itself as an area.
extensive, abnormally shallow, or poco deep of the seabed. And its scale is several thousand
kilometers across. That can be as large, for example, as the island-continent of Australia.

McNutt's review of various lines of geophysical evidence allows him to conclude that one of the best

This is a "broad area of elevated seabed, containing numerous volcanoes in Polynesia

"French". The limits of this super-elevation contain the chain of islands: Society, Cook, Austral,
Tuamotu, Marquesas, and Easter. These reflect an enhanced index of volcanism in the area of super-
elevation, due to the enormous amounts of hot rock from the layer beneath the seabed.

If the super-elevation of the Pacific was ever above sea level, forming the continent of
Lemuria would have been pushed up by a broad pumping in the layer, similar to what
recently seemed to be coming to light through the peaks and plateaus of the American West. A
the renewal of the elevation of the layer beneath the super-elevation of the South Pacific (SPS) could result in
result that the seabed there would rise above the waves once again.

Such activity would confirm the statement in reading 1152-11 (from August 13, 1941) of Cayce, which
he/she says that,

In the coming years, lands will appear in the Atlantic, as well as in the Pacific.
If we are to give any credit to the geophysical evolution and eventual disappearance of Lemuria, what could it be?
Is there evidence for the origin of Lemuria? The answer could lie in the line of reasoning in our
latest article, on the origin of Atlantis, as based on the hypothesis of Prof. Mackenzie Keith.9

On page 301 of Keith's seminal article, the author begins by reminding us that the plate hypothesis
tectonics includes the postulate that,
Volcanism can be attributed to the flow [of the crust and the layer] and recycling in the recognized areas.

Some of the chains of islands in the Pacific, better exemplified by the Hawaiian chain,

He then proposes, as a functional hypothesis, that the Hawaiian-Emperor chain (Fig. 3)

is located along a trend of cold, linear residues, developed beneath the ancestral Edge
in the Central Pacific, and that,
part of the residue was left behind when the edge was displaced during a Mesozoic disruption

The crest of the persistent residual plume corresponds to the extensive super-elevation of the South Pacific, and the
Isotopic and thermal anomaly centered more or less around Tahiti (T). Keith proposes that the final stage of the flow.

The Isotopic and Thermal Anomaly of the South Pacific (SOPITA) MENTIONED IN THE SUBTITLES OF THE

differential spatial domains of concentrations of lead, uranium, strontium, and neodymium isotopes.

These differential domains suggest that the super-elevation may be located over a stable zone.

Pacific basin. This was caused by an impact event. The impact was large enough to
to produce a huge plume of material from the lower layer that was pushed up, more or less by
the Tahiti area. Then, starting in the post-Cretaceous period (about 60 million years ago), at
cool down and contract the crust and the mantle exposed outward, the continent gradually sank
during the following eons.

This sequence of events is similar to the one we reviewed in our previous article about the basin.

Archaeological Evidence for Mu?

Is there any archaeological evidence of Lemuria? Perhaps.

Richard Noone has written10about the presence of ancient construction works on two islands of the
Pacific, Malden in the Line Islands, and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands chain. The two islands lie near
Malden or just within the limits of McNutt for the super elevation of the South Pacific. (See Figure 2).
Malden Island (4.00° S, 155.00° W) seems to contain the remnants of a highway system that radiates
outward from a complex of temples.

Made of adjusted basalt blocks, the roads cross beaches and disappear beneath the waves.

I am pleased to have Joan Griffith, a long-time member of A.R.E., who reached out.
(electronically) with me to discuss your 64 years of research on the history of Mu, as it has been.

WH:Joan, when did you get in touch with Churchward's works?

Colonel Churchward (a851 – 1936) was a lifelong friend of my father's, since approximately
1880, when my father was a boy. The colonel met the explorer Augustus Le Plongeon at the house.

Does Cayce's readings mention anything about Churchward's investigations on Mu?

JG: No. It seems that no one asked Cayce about his work.

WH: You have read what I have written above. Would you like to add anything to that?

JG: Yes. I would just like to remind you that in 1959, you wrote11about two studies suggesting

He wrote in 'Development of Medium Elevations in Ocean Basins' (1958, bulletin of the Society

largest oceanic upliftings in the world... observations do not rule out the possibility that the

E. Andersy D.N. Limber ("Origin of the High Ashes of Worzel in the Depths of the Sea" in the magazine
Nature, Volume 184) believe that the ash is of volcanic terrestrial origin, and that it must have a 'notable'
"record of the History of the Earth." This layer of ash may have been related in some way to the
sinking of Lemuria.

In my brief glance through Churchward's books, I was perplexed by his hypothesis of belts of...
gas crossing the world. Do you really believe that explosions of underground gas chambers
Could they have had something to do with the sinking of Mu? Where did he get this information?

JG: Churchward proposed a theory of gas belts interwoven with the earth, and chambers between layers of
granite rock within the lithosphere. The formation and collapse of these chambers, he claims, were responsible

land. Churchward cites sources such as the Troano Manuscript and ancient Egyptian writings that describe
this process. The logic of this attracts me, although I am not an expert in geology. It seems that science has

JG: Well, in French Polynesia... marking the limits of the Super-elevation (See Figure 2)... they are
some of the most exciting megalithic ruins, in and out of the water... gigantic walls of
stone, platforms, pillars, blocks from 10 to 30 tons (illustrations and descriptions in the book 'Riddle of

I .- THE ORIGIN OF THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE SEVEN RAYS

Lemuria is the name of the last part of the Great continent that existed in the Pacific Mu. The

who one day would abandon their Elder Race and come as true 'Els'. We say
for Cyclopes because they are not on the Earth as we will explain in Part IV (below).

The Brotherhood of the Seven Rays was originally initiated with the Cyclopes, since
they were the first to manifest the Seven Rays of life upon planet Earth. Those beings
they projected a radiation of special energy that allowed for the establishment of the Seven Rays of
Life on our planet, and if it had been absent, the Brotherhood of the Seven Rays would have never existed.
