This document is for AWS Partners interested in the AWS Well-Architected Partner
Program and provides guidance on the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program.

What is the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program

The AWS Well-Architected Partner Program enables AWS Partners to establish good
architectural habits, eliminate risk, and respond faster to changes that affect designs,
applications, and workloads. AWS Well-Architected Partners gain expertise to build high
quality solutions, implement best practices, check the state of workloads, and make
improvements to fit business and customer needs.

New to Well-Architected? Learn how the AWS Well-Architected Framework helps cloud
architects build secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure for their

AWS Well-Architected Partner Program Journey
If you haven’t already registered your company with the APN, join by creating your AWS
Partner Central account at no cost.

Follow the below steps to become an AWS Well-Architected Partner and adopt AWS best
practices.

Meet Program Requirements:

• Advanced or Premier AWS Partner Tier who enroll in the Services Path, specifically
designed for organizations that leverage AWS to deliver consulting, professional,
managed and resale services.
• Identify Practice Leads: AWS Partners must commit to having leaders within your
organization to support your AWS Well-Architected practice.
o Identify one executive sponsor who is an SVP or higher and responsible for
integrating Well-Architected into your business: The executive sponsor
should have visibility into multiple areas of the organization and can
influence adoption and change management
o Identify minimum of two Well-Architected Leads: The two leads hold a
valid AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification; who will
be responsible for integrating Well-Architected across sales, delivery, and
MSP, and lead initiatives that deploy new workloads that are Well-
Architected and/or resolve high risk issues across workloads. Well-
Architected Leads are required to attend the AWS Well-Architected Partner
Technical Training.

Apply Online:

Locate the Well-Architected Partner Program application link which can be found in APN
Partner Central. Login to APN Partner Central, under Programs, click on Program Applications,
select AWS Well-Architected to complete the self-service application.

Complete Trainings:

All AWS Partners who are interested in joining the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program
must complete a series of training class.

1. Introduction to AWS Well-Architected Partner Program: (on demand, 20 mins –

attended by Executive Sponsor, Alliance Lead and Well-Architected Leads)

2. Sales and Operational Webinar: (on demand, 45 mins – attended by a minimum

of two Business Development Leads and core AWS Well-Architected sellers
interacting with customers)

3. Executive Sponsor Kickoff: (scheduled meeting, one hour – attended by Executive

Sponsor, Alliance Lead and Business Development Lead): 1-1 session to discuss
initiatives, goals, KPIs and overall partner and program objectives. Contact your
partner manager to schedule.

4. Two SA Pros must complete AWS Well-Architected Foundations self-paced

training. Other members of the Partner team may also take this training.

5. Two Professional Solution Architects must complete AWS Partner: Advanced

AWS Well-Architected Best Practices (Technical) Partners must work with their
WA Business Development Manager to schedule, there is no cost to the partner
for this class.

Complete Program Application Requirements:

To join the program, partners must complete the following:

1. AWS Advanced or Premier Tier Partner
2. Identified Executive Sponsor (SVP or higher)
3. Minimum of two Well-Architected Leads per applicable Geo who hold a valid
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certificate
4. Complete Executive Conversation & Sales Onboarding training
5. Two SA Pro leads complete AWS Well-Architected Onboarding training
a. Two SA Pros must complete AWS Well-Architected Foundations self-
paced training. Other members of the Partner team may also take this
training
b. Two Professional Solution Architects must complete AWS Partner:
Advanced AWS Well-Architected Best Practices (Technical). Partners
must work with their WA Business Development Manager to schedule,
there is no cost to the partner for this class.
6. Complete Business Integration Checklist (BIC), training and provide integration
project plan
7. Include AWS Well-Architected as an element in go-to-market materials

 8. Conducting a minimum of 4 workload reviews (production or pre-production)
and resolving a minimum of 12 high-risk issues (HRs) on production or pre-
production workloads

• Within 3 months of completing WA program application commit to attaining

Pending program status by completing all required training
• Within 4 months of attaining Pending Program status commit to attaining
Confirmed status by demonstrating HRIs resolution capabilities,
o Automation of WAFRs capability must be demonstrated by December
2025, including API/3rd party integrations, automated
discovery/remediation, and conformance packs, which will be validated
by WA BD

These requirements can be prorated for partners who join the program later in the
year.

Retain the AWS Well-Architected Partner Badge:

Program requirements may change from year to year. Partners need to meet the ongoing
requirements outlined below, to retain the AWS Well-Architected Partner badge.

• AWS Advanced or Premier Tier Partner

• One Executive Sponsor (SVP or higher) identified
• Minimum of two Well-Architected Leads per applicable Geo who hold
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certificate
• Complete Business Integration Checklist (BIC) and provide integration project plan
• Include AWS Well-Architected as an element in go-to-market materials
• Conduct a minimum of 10 WAFRs on production or non-production workloads
• Submit 10 AWS Sales Opportunities tagged as 'Well-Architected' in
Launched/Completed stage
• Automation of WAFRs and HRI remediation capability must be demonstrated by
December 2025, including API/3rd party integrations, automated
discovery/remediation, and conformance packs, which will be validated by WA BD

Earning the AWS Well-Architected Partner Badge enables you to showcase your expertise
and drive visibility with customers with funding benefits, and listing on the AWS Partner
Solutions Finder.
