1 BASIC INFORMATION
1.1 WELCOME
We welcome you as a buyer and user of one of our screens.
TYCANRThis instruction manual has been prepared to help you plan the
more practical arrangement for the installation and to guide it during operation and
maintenance of your screen; keep this manual for future reference.
There is a variety of different types of vibrating mechanical screens; their
sifter TYCANRit is the best machine in its class, as it has been designed to
satisfy their separation applications with great efficiency and economy.
In a certain sense, vibrating screens are mechanisms for testing
fatigue; the service expected from them justifies the use of the best design,
materials and labor. Its unit has been built with care and went through
factory tests before sending it. If you follow the instructions related to the
care and maintenance of the unit will ensure that the machine operates without
problems for many years.
The attached parts lists will help you when ordering your spare parts; you
we ask that you include the serial number of your shaker when placing orders for
spare parts, so that we can then review our detailed records, which will give us
the necessary data to send you the parts you requested, whenever you need them.
1.2 ENTREGA
Your machine is in perfect condition when placing it in transport; furthermore,
has been operated at normal speed for at least 8 hours in our factory and is

recommended; this recommendation appears elsewhere in these instructions.
Although we may not have mentioned it as part of our
recommendation, keep in mind that it is also possible that, due to the small
uncontrollable changes caused by the characteristics of the material or even the
changes in the specifications of its products, it may be appropriate to make changes
in the inclination. We suggest that your plans include a variation of
more/less two degrees when designing the structure and the supply and ducting

Keep in mind that as the incline increases, the vertical distance increases.

efficient for feeding the shaker; the success of its installation may depend on this
important point.
In order to make the most of capacity and efficiency and to
minimize the maintenance of the surface material of the screen, place the
food area and align it with the center line of the shaker. Likewise, the
Feeding must be done at a uniform rate, in addition to the fact that the material must
distribute evenly across the entire width of the machine.

What the bearings of the axle assembly transport.
This type of hopper must be supported independently of the body of the
vibrating screen, in addition to being designed so that the body has a
space of at least two inches. The sloped sides of the hopper must have a
sufficient angle to prevent fine material from accumulating in the valleys.
the download opening must be quite large, as in case the body of the
sifter collided with the accumulated material, the effect is the same as if the body
hit against a solid object.
Sometimes it is necessary for the technicians to enter the area that is immediately
under the sieve; so you must take into account that you need to have access to

2.9 ACCESS PLATFORMS
You must provide work platforms for the operators so that
they can observe the team's performance. When I designed these platforms,
make sure to take into account the space requirements and the ease of
access to change the surface of the screens. In case you have several
desktop units, it is preferable to work from the unloading end of the
machine. Design the discharge channels so that they can be moved from their
position quickly and easily;
Additionally, keep in mind the space requirements of the platforms.
The workload will be greater if body and assembly repairs are carried out.
of the axis. In addition to the space requirements, keep in mind that some of the
parts that must be handled during the reconditioning of the assembly of
axles are quite large and heavy. In case the size of the unit is
quite large, it is possible that the parts that will need to be handled during the
repairs require the use of a chain as otherwise, the safety of
the workers would be affected. The most important parts are the axis, the
counterweights, the bearing and its respective frame. The instructions include a list
what specifies the weight of these components.
Likewise, you can obtain the tools to pull and push the
assembly of the shaft of the TYCAN screensRTo use them, you need a space

the position of the sieve as well as that of the motor.
The details of the transmission of your TYCAN shakersRare listed in the Annex
Specification of the Engine and Transmission
Do not apply too much tension to the trapezoidal belt transmission, as
this will pull the resilient mounting system and misalign the body

motor. Before turning on the unit, check the alignment of the pulleys.
While the correct operating voltage is misleading, it is necessary for
any transmission of V-belts, as no other factor has as much
influence on the proper functioning of said transmission. If the tension is
optimal, the load will transfer without failures; if the belts are too tight or
too loose can come off or cause wear on the belt or in the grooves,
in addition to warming the transmission components.
Many operators tension this type of transmissions using various practices.

3.2.6 BALANCE
The set of the Class F sieve axis uses a double eccentric shaft.
four bearings. The frames of the internal eccentric bearings are secured
to the side plates of the body of the shaker through bearings, in addition to
that the body is supported by resilient mounts at each of the corners. The

we call lateral arms; the ends of these arms are supported with
similar resilient assemblies.
The bearings are mounted in the eccentric positions of the shaft; the two pairs of
eccentric positions are placed oppositely in their place regarding

how the lateral arms describe a circular trajectory driven by the
rotation of the axis.
Since both the body and the arms are opposite to the center of rotation of
the total mass at all times, the centrifugal force of the body will be seen
compensated by the centrifugal force of the lateral arms. However, given that
the side arms are not as heavy as the body of the sifter, their weight is

In the case of the Class F design, the axle assembly is perfectly balanced.
when the circular movement of the lateral arms is exactly the same
size that the circular movement of the body of the sieve, so to determine
if the unit is balanced it is a relatively simple task: just do
a visual comparison of the size of the circles generated by a brand
on the side arm and some point of the body of the sifting machine that is near the arm.
When I see that the circles of those parts are not the same, generally
It means that the machine is not balanced; if the circle of the body of the sifter is
smaller than the circle of the lateral arm, this means that the force of
the counterbalance is not large enough to support the centrifugal force of
body of the sifter. Therefore, the counterweight must increase in value; this

of the wheel.
On the other hand, when the body circle of the sieve is too large,
the counterweight force will need to be reduced.
Class F screens always operate at their service speed for several
hours at the factory before being sent; the balance is also checked. For that reason
previously, in any new installation you must check the support structure for

when the friezes, the hoppers or the

weight with respect to the center of gravity. For example, it may be necessary to
add weight to the end level of the body feed of the sieve to
compensate the extra mouth placed at the end of the discharge, in order to avoid
the distortion of the amplitude of circular motion at the level of the ends of the
machine. The total added weight will obviously have an adverse effect on the lifespan

4 LUBRICATION PROCEDURES
4.1 LUBRICATION OF THE ROLLER BEARINGS
The load of the bearings of all TYCAN screensRit is calculated
carefully, in addition to the fact that its size is chosen to achieve the greatest
benefit from its useful life. The bearings we use are selected to have
a closed tolerance outside the diameter and the free space of the roller. The connection
of the bearings with the shaft and within the frame is controlled so that it
maintain the desired internal space within the bearing. However, the bearings
they will not have the expected lifespan if lubrication practices are not followed
appropriate, One of the most common causes of bearing failures in the
vibrating screens is the application of inadequate, contaminated lubricants, or
Well, that not enough lubricant is applied.
4.2 SELECTION OF FAT
Many years of experience have taught us that vibrating screens
high speed require a lubricant that has specific properties. It
it can use a different degree in the various possible operating conditions;
you must take into account both the ambient temperature, which is the temperature of the
atmosphere surrounding the machine, such as the operating temperature of the bearing. In
generally, the grease must be oil with a viscosity of no less than 100 S.S.U. at
operating temperature of the bearing within its cavity.
This temperature should range from 130°F, in the case of small machines, to
175°F approximately, in the case of large and heavy units, when the
ambient temperature is 'normal'. The TYCAN screensRthey come lubricated from
factory with Chevron Dura-Lith EP NLGI 2.

in the bearing cavity to ensure that the seals extract a little five
Minutes after starting it up. The amount of fat needed varies
with the size of the bearing; however, it is advisable to count the jets that
sales of the seals within a period of five minutes to establish a
procedure according to the gun and the machine that are being used.
Follow the lubrication procedure described to ensure that there is
sufficient grease within the bearing cavity and to prevent the material Important!
strange that it accumulates in the seals and around returns to the bearing chamber.
We can add that in the case of wet operations, the amount of fat
it should be even more generous, in addition to recommending using fat based on
lithium; it should be stored in a container with a lid, preferably in the packaging
Furthermore, this container should be kept in a clean place, as if the
fat gets contaminated with dirt or abrasive material will present failures sooner than
forecasted, regardless of the care taken to lubricate the bearings.
4.4 AUTOMATIC LUBRICATION SYSTEMS
When automatic systems are used, each bearing must receive an injection.
of fat during a cycle of approximately 15 to 20 minutes. The volume of fat that
The injection into the cavity will of course depend on the size of the bearing in question.
Below is a list of the average consumption rate of each of the
bearings. Since the grease must be introduced with a labyrinth seal; so that the
the board works correctly, be very careful when assuming that you are putting
too much fat, and consequently, reduce the injector flow, or else,
expand the time cycle, in order to 'save' money on fat.

5 MAINTENANCE
5.1 DAILY INSPECTION
9Examine the screens section for broken or worn areas.
9Look for unusual sounds, as they could indicate that there is a loose bolt, a
damaged bearing, etc.
9Make sure that lubricant comes out of the seals that are on the frame of the
bearing, as this indicates that the unit has been properly lubricated.
5.2 WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
9Check the tension of the mesh sections.
9Check the visible nuts and bolts of the vibrating body and make sure that
have not loosened.
9Check the bolts of the bearing frame and those of its seals and make sure that
none has loosened.
9Examine the power supply and its casing, as well as any other
integrated lining to the body of the screen in relation to wear.
9Check the wear condition of the drive belts and the tension of
the transmission and ensure that the belts have not flipped in the grooves.
5.3 WELDING
When attempting to weld pieces of the body of the shaker, you must be careful.
extreme; in our experience, the side plates are prone to breaking
when subjected to the heat of arc welding or a cutting operation
with a torch. The broken parts will experience significant fatigue before failing, so
that welding is just a temporary repair.
We recommend that you consider this type of repairs as
emergency, so you must place an order for spare parts with the factory
immediately.

In case the axle has been removed from the tube frame during work
during dismantling, or if you are installing the new axle, make sure to place a
grease ring at each end before inserting it into the tube frame;
these rings are interference types so they generally need to be soldered with

6.3.4 ASSEMBLY OF THE EXTERIOR SET OF THE BEARING
The outer set of the bearing is identical on both sides of its sieve F-
Class. The bearing is loose in the frame and tight on the shaft; however
check the drill bit to ensure that it is not damaged, so that the
bearing is properly placed within the frame. As part of your Manual of
Maintenance, we include a specification sheet that shows the dimensions and
tolerances of the drill.

Likewise, we only use the bearings after having selected the
adequate internal space. This is done to ensure that there is still
sufficient space for the roller after the bearing is installed in the frame
and is mounted on the axis.
