Operation Sindoor Special One liners:

• Operation Sindoor was India's precision-targeted retaliatory strikes against terrorist camps.
• The strikes were carried out in the early hours of May 7th, around 1:45 a.m.
• Nine terrorist camps were hit, with four deep inside Pakistan and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir
(PoK).
• Key targets included the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed (Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur) and
Lashkar-e-Taiba (Markaz Taiba in Muridke).
• Other targeted camps were located in Seialkot, Muzaffarabad, Kotley, and Barnala in Bim, which were
used for training terrorists involved in major attacks, including those who carried out the Patankot air
base attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
• The primary purpose was to avenge the deadly Pahelgam attack and deliver justice to its victims.
• The strikes were executed using standoff weapons, specifically French-manufactured Scalp missiles
and Hammer precision-guided bombs fired from Rafael fighter jets, as well as loitering ammunition
(kamikaze drones).
• Precision targeting was emphasized to minimize collateral damage and avoid hitting military or civilian
targets.
• India asserted these strikes were non-escalatory in nature, aimed solely at terrorist infrastructure, not
the Pakistani government, military, or civilians.
• The operation was aptly codenamed "Operation Sindoor" as a symbolic tribute to the victims of the
Pahelgam attack, particularly the women widowed by the brutality.
• It represents a paradigm shift in India's counter-terrorism approach, being the first time multiple targets
have been hit on such a large scale (24 missiles/strikes) without a declared war, setting a new deterrence
threshold and calling Pakistan's nuclear bluff.

Additional Insights & Context

● The S-400 system marked its combat debut during Operation Sindoor, shielding Indian territory
from Pakistani aerial retaliation
● Electronic warfare (EW) capabilities played a decisive role — Indian forces jammed and bypassed
Pakistan’s Chinese-supplied air-defence systems within just 23 minutes
● Indigenous systems, such as Akash, D4, Akashteer, SkyStriker, and Nagashtra-1, showcased
India’s increasing self-reliance and technological edge
● Analysts credited the S-400 and EW integration for establishing strong aerial supremacy and
being a “historic moment in modern aerial warfare”
