DURATION I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content The learners demonstrate understanding of significant folk Music
Standards and Arts of selected Asian countries in relation to
the relevant conventional and emerging concepts, techniques,
processes, and/or practices of their integrated
creative work.
B. Performance The learners produce creative works of selected Asian
Standards communities based on relevant conventional and emerging
concepts, techniques, processes, and/or practices in Music and
Arts.
C. Learning Evaluate representative creative works of selected Asian
Competencies/ communities based on relevant conventional and emerging
Objectives concepts, techniques, processes, and/or practices in folk
. performing and visual arts.
D. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
a. identify the characteristics of at least two Asian (China) folk
dances;
b. demonstrate basic movements and steps of an assigned Asian
folk dance; and
c. express appreciation for the cultural diversity and richness of
Asian folk dances through oral recitation.

15 minutes H. Abstraction Asian Folk Dances
What are Asian folk dances?
Asian folk dances are a dynamic patchwork of traditional
forms that mirror the continent's diverse cultural, historical, and
regional distinctions.
Here are some examples of Asian folk dances:
1. China
a. The Dragon Dance is a traditional Chinese dance often
performed during the Lunar New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival.
It involves a group of artists manipulating an extended dragon
puppet and moving in synchronized dancing and harmony while
accompanied by vibrant music.
b. The Lion Dance is another well-known Chinese dance often
associated with joyful occasions and played during the Lunar
New Year. The dancers mimic the movements of a lion, believed
to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits.
c. Yangge Dance is a rural folk dance commonly performed in
northern China. A group of dancers moves in a lively and joyful
manner, often accompanied by traditional
instruments and colorful clothing.
