(IVYEAR ,[Link], VII SEM) (AOS. PROFFESOR )
HISTORY :-
The Company started since from 1987 in India & as well as in Japan & France. The
Amtek group started its work from forging & machining facilities.

The Amtek Group, headquartered in India, is one of the largest integrated

component manufacturers in India with a strong global presence.

It has also become one of the worlds largest global forging and integrated
machining companies.

The Group has operations across Forging, Iron and Aluminium Casting, Machining
and Sub-Assemblies.

It has world-class facilities across India, Japan, Thailand, Germany, Hungary, Italy,
Romania, UK, Brazil, Mexico and US.

With the infrastructure and technology platform developed over 30 years, the
Group is well positioned in the Indian Auto and Non-Auto component markets
VISION:
To become a world class engineering company in the
Automotive and Non Automotive sector.

MISSION:

This is to be achieved by capitalizing on our superior

technology base for the benefit of our customers,
suppliers and stakeholders.
To facilitate the processes which create an
environment where each member of the Organisation
is able to contribute their best.
GLOBAL BUISNESS :
INTERNSHIP DOMAIN :
Automation in CNC Machine Drive & its power tools.

Automation or automatic control, is the use of various control systems for

operating equipment such as machinery, processes in factories, boilers and heat
treating ovens, switching on telephone networks, steering and stabilization of
ships, aircraft and other applications and vehicles with minimal or reduced
human intervention, with some processes have been completely automated.

Automation has been achieved by various means including

mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic devices and computers,
usually in combination.

Complicated systems, such as modern factories, airplanes and ships typically use
all these combined techniques.

The benefit of automation include labor savings, savings in electricity costs,

savings in material costs, and improvements to quality, accuracy and precision.
STUDY AND ANALYSIS
PROCESSING IN PLANT
FURNANCING
MOULDING
FINISHING
forging
MACHINING
TESTING
DISPATCH
HPDC ZONE
In HPDC zone there are some process in this
zone . In hpdc zone material is melted
&moulded through furnance and heavy
casting machine
1. Furnancing :- The machine by which the
metal is melted under a high temperature is
called furnancing
2. Moulding :- a shaped strip of metal or other
material fitted as a decorative architectural
feature, especially in a cornice.
3. Forging:- it is a manufacturing process
involving the shaping of metal used localised
compressive forces. Forging is classified
according to temperature
4. Finishing:- finishing is an effective method for
removing surface imperfections.
These finishing machines create a uniform,
parallel grain surface texture to smooth out a
product's exterior
5. Testing :- It is a process in which the
manufactured product is checked weather it is
working properly or not. It is of two types
I. Manual testing
II. Machine testing (CMR machine)
6. Dispatching:-In this the packing of product is
done and then dispatched for costumer.
MACHINE SHOP
The job or workpiece come from HPDC zone
where it is moulded and casted then it gone for
machining in machine shop.
In machine shop job or workpiece is going under
process of :-
1. Threading
2. Driling
3. Taping
This process is performing by specific machines
i.e CNC , VMC , HMC
CNC MACHINE
Computer numerical control (CNC) is the
automation of machine tools by means of
computers executing pre-programmed
sequences of machine control
commands.

This is in contrast to machines that are

manually controlled by hand wheels or
levers, or mechanically automated by
cams alone
CNC MACHINE
CNC MACHINE :
CNC Machine can be classified in three
categories:

Programming(G-code & M-code)

Operation(AUTO/Manual)

Maintenance
PROGRAMMING :
G-Codes :- The codes or Numbers of instructions
used for axes controlling of machine tool which is
fixed inside the CNC machine.
With the help of these codes machine tools can
be accessed in all dimensions means that it will
move in any axis like X , Y , Z.
Generally, there are total 90 G-Codes used in any
machine but as in advanced Machines i.e. VMC
there are 14 new codes are also used. It means
there are total 104(90 + 14 ) G-Codes.
Programming :
M-Codes :
The codes or instructions which can
controlled the machine functions like cooling ,
spindle & work piece also.

There are totally 15 M-Codes used in CNC

machine
CNC M-Codes :

M00 - Program stop; Mill and Lathe

M01 - Optional program stop; Lathe and Mill
M02 - Program end; Lathe and Mill
M03 - Spindle on clockwise; Lathe and Mill
M04 - Spindle on counterclockwise; Lathe and Mill
M05 - Spindle off; Lathe and Mill
M06 - Toolchange; Mill
M08 - Coolant on; Lathe and Mill
M09 - Coolant off; Lathe and Mill
M10 - Chuck or rotary table clamp; Lathe and Mill
M11 - Chuck or rotary table clamp off; Lathe and Mill
M19 - Orient spindle; Lathe and Mill
M30 - Program end, return to start; Lathe and Mill
M97 - Local sub-routine call; Lathe and Mill
M98 - Sub-program call; Lathe and Mill
M99 - End of sub program; Lathe and Mill
Operation :
CNC Machine can be operated in two ways :
1. Automatic
2. Manual
The mode of operation is selected by operator by
selecting an option from panel given on machine.
In case of Manual mode keys on panel are used to
operate machine & all the operations are fully
manual.
In case of automatic mode only click on automatic
button & then process is completed automatically .
This mode is used due to programming which is feed
into card & that card is feed into the machine.
Operation :
Initially mode of operation is selected either manual or automatic mode.
Next step is to arranged the spindle of machine tool according to its
requirment .
If auto mode is selected then with the help of program tool is selected
and then axis of tool is arranged otherwise in case of manual mode, axis
and all are arranged manually.
After all this job/work piece will going under process for fixed time it
will processed.
When process is completed then alarm arises which indicates that
process is completed. It indicates three conditions:
1. RED light your job is under process.
2. YELLOW light This will indicate that some problem or breakdown
occurs during the process.
3. GREEN light This will indicate that your process is completed & job is
ready to take out from machine.
Maintenance :
Daily Maintenance

Replacement of blown Fuse

Battery

Troubleshooting
Daily Maintenance :
Daily maintenance include
1. Tape reader cleaning
=> After a certain no. of jobs performing machine
needs complete cleaning of itself.
=> Due to this efficiency of machine will
maintained
2. Tape reader lubrication
=> Changing of Lubrication oil is also a essential
part of daily maintenance
3. Air filter cleaning
Replacement :
Fuse specification
First of all keep the knowledge of fuse & whole
circuit connections of CNC machine.
Always check the power supply before operating
machine .
Always check the connections of input & output
unit.
If any error or breakdown occurred then
immediately stopped the power supply and
replace the faulty part of circuit.
Awards & Recognition :
CONCLUSION
The Next Manufacturing Revolution
the Future of CNC Technology.
The CNC process is used by the manufacturing
sector to control a machine or a tool using a
programmable computer. Today, CNC
machining is widespread; it dominates the
manufacturing sector, allowing for a
considerable jump in productivity around the
world.
