A pronoun is a word that is used in


place of a noun.
For example:

• Ratha is studying English. She wants


to be teacher.
The pronoun she pertains to whom?

For example:

• Smita thanked Raj because Raj had


helped Smita to complete Smita’s
work.
• Smita thanked Raj because he
helped her to complete her work.
