LINIMENT
Are solutions or mixtures of various
substances in oil, alcoholic solutions of
soaps, or emulsions and may contain
suitable antimicrobial preservatives.
These preparations that may be liquid or
semi-liquid are intended for external
application and should be so labeled
LINIMENT
They are rubbed onto the affected area;
because of this, they were once called
embrocation. They are applied with
friction and rubbing of the skin, the oil or
soap base providing for ease of application
and massage

WHAT IS THE METHOD OF THE
PREPARATION
COMPOUNDING PROCEDURES:
Measure the ingredients accurately
Prepare dilute ammonia solution
Mix oleic acid with turpentile oil
Dilute ammonia solution with warm water
Add to the oily solution
Separately dissolve ammonium chloride in
the remaining water
Place in an appropriate container

WHAT WHITE LINIMENT IS AND WHAT
IT IS USED FOR
White Liniment is a rubefacient, which is
a substance that warms the skin. It is used
for the relief of sciatica, sprains, lumbago
and rheumatic pains. The active ingredient
in this product is turpentine oil
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU USE
WHITE LINIMENT DO NOT USE:
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to turpentine oil or
any of the other ingredients listed
Take special care when using this product: avoid
contact with the eyes, inflamed or broken skin and
other sensitive areas
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice
before using this medicine.
HOW DO YOU USE LINIMENTS
Make sure your skin is clean and dry
before using or apply liniment. When you
using liniment, apply a thin layer to the
affected area and rub in gently until
completely absorbed. To use the liquid or
stick, uncap the applicator and press it
firmly on your skin to apply the
medication
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Tell a doctor straight away if you get any of the
following:
Hypersensitivity or allergic reactions such as skin
rash, swelling of the face, lips or throat, difficulty
breathing.
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or
pharmacist.
HOW TO STORE WHITE LINIMENT
Keep out of the sight and reach of
children.
Store below 25°C.
Do not use after the expiry date on
the carton. The expiry date refers to
the last day of that month.
