Who was Siddhartha Gautama?

• Born around 580 B. C. Win Lumbini Nepal.
• Born into royal family
 SIDDHARTHA found the path to enlightenm
ent, he was led from the pain of sufferin
g and rebirth towards the path of enlight
enment and became known as AWAKENED ONE.

 Symbolizes the cycle of LIFE ,DEATH


,REBIRTH and the eight ways of
life.

Buddhism which shows that
the Buddha was a special
person.
How Buddhists worship?
 Buddhists worship called"PUJA". People
chant to show their love to Buddha. They
make offerings like flower, candles,
incense, pure water [Link] thank Buddha
for his teaching.
 They believe that unless someone gains
Enlightenment, when they die they will be
reborn. If a person gain from
enlightenment they can break out of this
cycle.
 Breaking out from the cycle is called
NIRVANA/NIBBANA. It is the end of
everything that is not perfect. It is perfect
peace, free of suffering.

 MEDITATION means training the mind to


empty it all thoughts. When this
happen, what is important comes clear.
What do Buddhists believe?
 Buddha saw the truth about what the
world is like.
 Nothing in the world is perfect.
 Buddha found the answer why is it like this.
 They do not believe that Buddha was God.
He was a human being just like them.
 He gained enlightenment and teach them
how to reach it too
What did Buddha teach?
The three signs of Beings
 Dukkha - Nothing is life is perfect.
 ANNICA - Everything in life changes all the
time.
 ANNATA - There is no soul. Buddha taught
what does carry on the next life is person's
life force(KARMA). It's either good or bad
depending on how the person lives in his
life.
The Four Noble Thruths

 DUKKHA - Suffering exist.


 SAMUDAYA - There is a cause of suffering.
 NIRODHA - There is an to suffering.
 MAGGA - In order to end suffering, you
must follow the eight fold path.

of our thoughts and actions
