INTRODUCTION

*This Project “Vehicle Renting System” which is made in JAVA technology basically intended for
serving a Vehicle Renting Company who serves their customers by renting vehicles to them for a
short period of time. By the help of this project the renting company will be pretty much
comfortable to maintain their data such as:- i) Which vehicle is assigned to which customer ,ii)
Which driver is assigned to which customer, iii) How many vehicles are there available to rent for
and also for many more, iii) How many employees are currently working in the company.

This project is designed so as to be used by Vehicle Rental Company specializing in renting

vehicles to customers.

A vehicle rental or vehicle hire agency is a company that rents automobiles for short period of time
whether in a few hours or a few days or week. It is an extended form of a rental shop, often
organized with numerous local branches (which allow a user to return a vehicle to a different
location), and primarily located near airports or busy city areas and often complemented by a
website allowing online reservations. Vehicle rental agencies primarily serve people who have
vehicles that are temporarily out of reach or out of service, for example travelers who are out of

OBJECTIVE

*The objective of this project is to computerized the manual work going on in the
company so that work can be done easily and efficiently thus saving time and for getting
rid from manually work culture in the company.
Some of the main objectives are:-
 *The main objective is to automate non-computer environment

 *To save manpower.

 *It will speed the processing of data and transaction.

 *It will provide best security and privacy features to the personal date.

 To transform the manual process of hiring vehicle to a computerize system.

 To validate the Rental vehicle system using user satisfaction test.

*The scope of this project covers a wide area ranging from business or any other computing
field to perform data manipulating and data analysing work efficiently :-

The area covers include:

 Car rental industry: This includes study on how the car rental business is being done, process
involved and opportunity that exist for improvement.

 Web-platform means that the system will be available for access 24/7 except when there is a
temporary server issue which is expected to be minimal

 *Eco-friendly: Implementation of this application will help less use of paper and pen.

 *24/7 Access:- By implementing these types of application it provides 24/7 acces to the
employee of the company promoting continuous work from any where.

 *Custom feature:- It provides custom feature to work with for the ease of work in the company
and support for the software.

FUTURE SCOPE

 *In future it can be modify, so that it can be done online. In order to meet
these facility this application can be linked to company website to get the
customer data online and also it will enable the customers to rent the
vechicle as per their need and pay the money for that .
 As this is generic software it can be used by a wide variety of outlets
(Retailers and Wholesalers) to automate the process of manually
maintaining the records related to the subject of various aspect of a
business or a company.
 Account maintenance also becomes easier. They can keep track of their
purchases, sales, stocks and account details.
 The software is provided with all the master entries to enter any new
product, or supplier, or to add or modify and delete

Conclusion

The software is developed by implementing the concept of modularity which in

turn reduces the complexity involved in maintaining it. The application is portable
which ensure its adaptability for use on different computer terminals with different
operating system and standards.

This software is very much efficient in handling of a vehicle renting company for
example- record for rented cars, records of returned card by the customer, records of
the drivers assigned to the vehicles which are locked for the customers.

The factors guarantee the software’s availability includes proper termination and
correct input details. Hence we may conclude that the application system ”Vehicle
Renting System” which has been developed offers various convenient and easy
interface to take the offline renting srvices online.
