ANIMAL ADAPTATION
Animals have different body
structures that help them survive
in a particular habitat. We call this
animal adaptation.
• Body covering is an example of
animal adaptation. Some body
coverings are hair or fur, feathers,
scales, and shells.
• There are also body structures that
help animals move in their habitats.
• Legs, fins and tails, and wings, are
some of these structures.
• Webbed feet enable some animals
to move on land and in water.
• Some animals, like snakes use their
muscles and scales to move.
• Claws, teeth, sticky tongue, beaks
and bills are some of the structures
that help animals get food in order
to survive.
• Snakes have jaws that allow them
to open their mouth wide to swallow
their food without chewing.
• A bee has a sucking tube to suck
nectars.
• Birds and fowls have different beaks
and bills depending on the food they
eat.
There are also animals that we
can raise.
Some of these animals can help
us to have additional income.
Choosing the right animals will
also depend on the kind of
habitat where you are going to
raise them.
