COURSE OBJECTIVE:

 To enrich the students with basic concepts in


Chemistry to strengthen the fundamentals
which will support for pursuing education and
research in engineering.

 Develop idea on feasibility and mechanism of


chemical processes, conceptualize alternative
source of energy by electrochemical means.

 Handling instrumental techniques to explore


chemical products
COURSE OUTCOMES :
After completing the course, the students will be able to

CO1: rationalize bulk properties and processes using thermodynamic


consideration and apply the knowledge to decide the feasibility
of a given process

CO2: analyze the kinetics of simple and multistep reactions as well as


theories of reaction rates

CO3: understand the importance of catalysis, the different types of


catalysts, their mechanism of action and their applications

CO4: evaluate some properties such as pH, solubility product etc. by


using electrochemical cell and understand the working of modern
batteries

CO5: distinguish the different electromagnetic radiations used for


exciting different molecular energy levels in various spectroscopic
techniques to evaluate the structure of molecules

CO6: get an exposure to different types of smart and intelligent


materials.
