BINARY SYSTEM
What are Binary Numbers?
Binary numbers are a base-2
number system that uses
only two digits: 0 and 1. It
is the language of computers
and digital electronics.
How Binary Works:
Each digit in a binary number is called a bit
(short for "binary digit").
Binary operates on base-2, meaning each
place represents a power of 2 (just like the
decimal system operates on base-10,
where each place represents a power of
10).

The decimal system is the
standard number system used
in daily life. It is a base-10
system, meaning it uses ten
digits (0-9) to represent
numbers.
Place Value in the Decimal System
Each digit in a decimal number has a place value based on powers of 10:
