INTRODUCTION

• Cloud Computing is the delivery of on-demand computing services like storage, servers,
over the internet on pay-as-you-go basis.

Example- Google drive, Gmail.

• Rather than managing files on a local storage device like Pendrive, Cloud Computing
helps to save and access them from the internet. The common cloud providers are
Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, IBM Cloud, etc.
WHY CLOUD COMPUTING?

ON-PREMISE CLOUD COMPUTING

• Higher pay, less scalability • Pay for what you use

• Require huge space for servers • No server space required

• Appoint a team for hardware and software • No experts required for hardware and
maintenance software maintenance
• Poor data security • Better data security

• Less Collaboration • Teams can collaborate from widespread

locations
• Takes longer Implementation time • Rapid Implementation
TYPES OF CLOUD COMPUTING
DEPLOYMENT MODEL

1. PUBLIC CLOUD
The cloud infrastructure that is made available to the general public over the internet and is owned by
cloud provider.
Example – Storing files on Google Drive.

2. PRIVATE CLOUD
The cloud infrastructure that is exclusively managed and operated by single organization.
Example – A bank using private cloud to store sensitive customer data like account balance.
DEPLOYMENT MODEL

3. HYBRID CLOUD
The cloud infrastructure, that consist the
functionalities of both public and private
cloud.
Example – A business using a private cloud
for sensitive data and a public cloud for
general applications.
SERVICE MODEL

1. IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service)

The cloud service that provides virtualized computing resources like servers, storage over the internet.
Example – Amazon Web Services (AWS).

2. PaaS (Platform as a Service)

The cloud service that provides platforms and runtime environments for developers to develop, test
and manage applications.
Example – Google App Engine.
SERVICE MODEL

3. SaaS (Software as a Service)

The cloud service where cloud providers
host and manage the software application on
a pay-as-you-go pricing model.
Example – Microsoft 365 like MS Excel,
MS PowerPoint.
TECHNOLOGIES OF CLOUD COMPUTING

1. VIRTUAL MACHINE
It is software-based computer that runs on a
physical computer and allows multiple
applications to run on a single server by
simulating hardware and software.
Example – VirtualBox, VMware.
• Hypervisor – A software that is used to
create and manage the virtual machine.
TECHNOLOGIES OF CLOUD COMPUTING

2. CONTAINER
It is an application that’s been packaged with
all the files and configurations necessary for it
run.
Example – Docker Container
• Container Engine – A software that allows to
create, run and manage containers.
TECHNOLOGIES OF CLOUD COMPUTING

3. DOCKER
It is an platform that helps a user to package an application into a docker container for the
development and deployment of software.
 Docker consist of two major components, those are:
 Docker Client : Is a service which uses REST API to send commands to Docker Daemon.
 Docker Daemon : It checks the client request and communicates with the docker
components in order to perform a service.
ADVANTAGES
• Cost Efficiency
• Disaster Recovery and Backup
• Accessibility and Mobility
• Environmentally Friendly
DISADVANTAGES

• Internet Dependence
• Cybersecurity Risk
APPLICATIONS
• Data Storage
• Online Collaboration
• Data Backup and Recovery
• Remote Work
FUTURE SCOPE

• Increase in Hybrid or Multi-Cloud Solutions : Companies will use a mix of private and
public clouds to balance cost, security and performance.

• Growth of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning : Cloud platforms will offer
more tools for AI and ML, that is, it is going to faster processing of data and better
decision-making for businesses.

• Better Data Security and Privacy : Cloud providers will focus more on improving
security systems to protect user’s data from cyberattacks and data leaks.
CONCLUSION
• Cloud computing has revolutionized the way we use technology by providing on-demand
access to computing resources such as storage, servers, and applications over the internet.
It allows users and businesses to work more efficiently by offering flexibility, scalability,
and cost-effectiveness.
• As technology continues to advance, cloud computing is becoming more secure, reliable,
and essential in various fields like education, healthcare, business, and entertainment. In
the future, cloud computing will remain a key driver of digital transformation and
innovation.
