Eul 2ms TTI Report
Date:- 30-Jun.2015
Feature Description
- The optional feature “Enhanced Uplink 2ms TTI” is an extension of the
EUL functionality by now supporting 2 ms TTI Radio Bearer as a
complement to 10 ms TTI Radio Bearers, enabling higher UL bit rates
and lower latency. The benefits are higher UL bit rate, up to 5.44 Mbps
(RLC) and reduced Round Trip Time (RTT).
- The higher bit rate is achieved by using multi code transmission, using
up to 2 codes with spreading factor 2 together with 2 codes of
spreading factor 4 for the E-DPDCH physical channel (corresponding
to 5.76 Mbps on Layer 1).
- Reduced RTT is achieved by reducing the Transmission Time Interval
(TTI) from 10 ms to 2 ms. HARQ functionality for 2 ms TTI is extended
to support 8 HARQ processes.
3
Feature Description
- The EUL Scheduler is extended to support 2 ms TTI users along with 10 ms
TTI users. The system is capable of handling both R99 users as well as EUL
users in the same cell. Soft and softer handover functionality for 2 ms TTI
users is supported as well as fallback functionality to R99 bearers (DCH)
when leaving an area with EUL. 2 ms TTI is supported for the Interactive PS
RAB with fallback functionality to R99 for other service combination requests.
-
- The maximum achievable bit rate on the E-DCH is highly dependant on
available UE power and interference headroom, number of E-DCH codes and
available channel elements.
- The minimum configuration used for 2ms TTI is 8 CE (with enhanced CE
ladder) and SF4 for minimum transport block size.
- 2ms TTI is supported over Iur when EDCH 2ms TTI Iur support is enabled.

Eul 2ms TTI Key benefits
Key benefits
- Improved Throughput, up to 5.76 Mbps (layer 1)
- Lower latency
- Better user experience for advanced applications
- Reduced round trip time
- Improved handover success rate by switching from 2 ms to 10 ms if target cell RBS has
low Channel Element resources
- Enhanced coverage with coverage based switch to 10ms TTI
- Improved scheduler observability for enhanced uplink users

Normal Eul Drop Rate
and Eul RAB SR.
11
UL RSSI:
Activation Date:
16Jun2015
UL RSSI was not
affected, while it’s
expected to be
affected if the feature
was activated over all
nodeBs

UL Channel Elements Utilization:
Activation Date:
16Jun2015
UL CE utilization was
almost doubled after
activating Eul 2ms TTI
It’s Recommended to
Activate CeCapEul
with Eul 2ms TTI
which will save 50% of
available CE.
