Exactly a month ago, we hosted our first design leaders getaway in Tyrol! ⛰️ To be honest, we were a bit nervous beforehand... Would everything go as planned? What about the weather? And most importantly, would the participants enjoy the program? There’s always a chance things could go wrong, and we aim for everything to be as perfect as possible. In the end, we spent three amazing days together with a great group, full of unforgettable moments. ☺️ Here’s the recap with the best photos for you all! https://buff.ly/3BTDLHE #uxdesign #uxresearch #uxcon #uxleaders #leadership

🎯 uxcon vienna was a game-changer! Here are some of my biggest takeaways: - Product Decisions: Recognizing the role of assumptions, embracing decision-making frameworks, and balancing risk with knowledge can lead to better product outcomes. - User Research: Understanding stakeholders' needs, tracking ROI, and prioritizing research based on financial impact can significantly enhance the value of user research. - Design Metrics: To accurately assess product success, it's crucial to consider a variety of metrics rather than relying solely on a single one. Aligning UX and business metrics, as well as using consistent language, can help ensure a comprehensive evaluation. - Career Growth: Seeking regular feedback, focusing on impact, and connecting business needs with user problems. - Public Speaking: Listening to your inner voice, being kind to yourself, and leveraging your inner coach can boost your confidence in public speaking. Speakers: Andy Healey, Nikki Anderson, MA, Vitaly Friedman, Paola Mariselli and Elize Presents Pictures uxcon vienna #UXConVienna #UXDesign #UserExperience #CareerGrowth #UserResearch #DesignMetrics #ProductDecisions #TEDTalk #PublicSpeaking

Our very first design leaders getaway has come to an end, and we couldn't be happier: We got to spend three days with a fantastic group of people! There was intense work and great conversations, all in a breathtaking setting in the Tyrolean Alps. Dear design leaders, we hope you took away plenty of useful insights for your journey ahead. We’re already looking forward to next year. ☺️ Shoutout to April Kristiansen for capturing so many lovely moments! #uxcon #designleaders #uxdesign #uxresearch

Haven't had enough of uxcon yet? Here is the chance to reconnect with attendees and with those who regret to have missed it 😊
My beloved Viennese researchers and other UX creatures! 👾 If you attended or didn't attend uxcon vienna and are curious if it was worth it, come by and have a chat with our community tomorrow: https://lnkd.in/dc7Hd8C4 We are meeting at re: kompany, a cozy, still pretty new place, established by a super-lovely Indian couple, who is making this space a home for creativity and exchange. They also have the best Chai Latte in town (it is one of my fav beverages, so you can count on me being super-critical in this regard). See you tomorrow! 💕

Here we are: Tired faces and aching feet. A week ago, heavy rain in Austria threw some serious challenges our way, making it difficult - if not impossible - for some participants to make it here. Our team didn’t have it easy getting to us. Some took long journeys to be here, including one who endured an 11-hour trip (instead of the usual 4), with multiple transfers along the way because of the aftermath of the rain. Others, even though they didn’t know each other, teamed up to travel together. Two days before uxcon, our beloved tech supervisor came down with a fever and couldn’t make it, putting us in a tough spot at the last minute. Luckily, our website developer stepped up, quickly finding a replacement and even offering to handle it himself, even though he was just planning to attend as a guest. The night before our setup day, the elevator we needed to move all our stuff got stuck, and it took hours before we could get back to work (it took even longer because we ended up in a brief but intense argument with the employee from the elevator company). In the morning of the first day of the event, we received last-minute cancellations from volunteers who couldn’t make it due to the storms. Some participants spent a lot of extra money on rebooking their trips just to find another way to get to us. We argued because we were under so much pressure and, at times, weren’t sure how we were going to pull it all off. We greeted speakers with warm hugs, feeling like we were reconnecting with old friends, even though it was our first time meeting face-to-face. Many people put in a tremendous amount of work to bring a UX conference to life, and a team that barely knew each other at the start of the week became friends by the end of the three days, working together and bonding. We gave it everything we had to make sure you had a great time with us. We hope you felt that. It was a joy for us, and we thank you for making #uxcon24 so special!

What a day! 😮 Not only did we have two wonderful full-day workshops with research pioneer Indi Young and Vice President of Research at Blink UX, Lad Decker (Strategic Research: Listening Deeply) and Smashing Magazine's Vitaly Friedman (Designing for Complex UIs), but we also prepared everything for the next two days of uxcon vienna, had our (very first) speaker dinner, and hosted our pre-conference warm-up! Thanks a lot to Stravito for their support in our warm-up events (and for the really charming pitch 😊) – it's been wonderful to finally meet you all, and we can't wait for our big opening - see you tomorrow! ❤️ #uxcon24 #uxdesign #uxresearch #userexperience #expedithalle
