  1. STILLPOINT
    by Steve Roach
Serenity in Waves Serenity in Waves
Super chillaxed ambiance. Steve Roach manages to create minimalistic ambiance with a depth of feeling that transcends any throw-away new age music you might hear in a spa or massage room. I can certainly say that he has enhanced my reading and relaxes me when I need to retreat from the noise of modern life.

From the heart - Thank you Steve.

  6. Fast Future
    by Donny McCaslin
    No Eyes No Eyes
I'm a big fan of Donny McCaslin so this is hardly objective. This a great modern Jazz album that combines Donny's crisp. inventive sax lines with some intense keyboard which is often reminiscent of ambient electronica. The rhythm section is as solid as you can get. These are musicians at the top of their game.

Its worth noting that if you listen to this album through cheap speakers or cans its a very sub-par experience. There is a lot of deep bass and it's integral to the sound!
  7. Possible Planet
    by Steve Roach
    First Murmer First Murmer
This is so otherworldly. Its hypnotic, relaxing drones are utterly compelling.

  12. Maca Conu
    by Jonas Cambien
It takes something unconventional to remind me of the excitement I felt when I first discovered truly great music.

This album is chaotic, strange and wonderful. It wont be everyone’s idea of a good time but I love it when, musically speaking I have no idea what’s going to happen next. Maca Conu provides that bizarre uncertainty for me in spades whilst also providing a central core of familiar Jazz musicality.

So if experimental Jazz is your thing I highly recommend this unconventional gem!
  13. Meandering Demons
    by Peter Van Huffel's Callisto
    Meandering Demons Meandering Demons
This is a dark intense jazz album. It has a sound very reminiscent of the english rock band Van Der Graaf Generator with the addition of trumpet. A key element is that bass duties are taken up by the keys which are frequently heavily effected It's chaotic, free and menacing.

    I like it!

    Melancholia Melancholia
This is a truly great Jazz album but what really amazes me is how different the live versions at the end of the album are. They are not filler, they are essential listening. Wonderful stuff and great musicianship from all involved!

    by aja monet
    black joy black joy
This is powerful, spine tingling poetry in front of great jazz. I saw Aja on a Tiny Desk Concert on Youtube. I was completely knocked out and bought this immediately.

I can’t recommend her more than that!
