English: Shirley Marie Tilghman FRS (née Caldwell, September 17, 1946) is a scholar in molecular biology and an academic administrator. Tilghman is serving as the president of Princeton University. She is the first female to hold the position and the third female president in the Ivy League.

Elle a révolutionné la génétique en montrant que l'expression d'un gène dépend de l'origine parentale du chromosome.
