Urgent, Emergency

Hi, I did a complete update and re-structuring of the map. My source was ai I updated Russia, Mongolia, Laos, Bahrain; Western Sahara, Lesotho, Comoros, Gabun, Sierra Leone; Guatemala, Belize, Guyana, Bolivia; Trinidad und Tobago, St. Vincent und die Grenadinen, Barbados, St. Lucia, Dominica, Montserrat, Guadeloupe, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Martin, Saint-Barthélemy, United States Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Puerto Rico, Netherlands Antilles, Aruba, Jamaika, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands.

I deleted doubled/redundant polygons and standardized the symbols: small circles are territories (like Jersey), slightly bigger circles are sovereign states (like Liechtenstein) Further more i did a re-grouping: The oversea territories of UK, France, Denmark, USA and Netherlands are now together in the Groups "gb", "fr", "dk", "us" and "nl". So now you can change the color of one of these states in just one step.

For all this I used Adobe Illustrator. Peculiarly I was not able to open the file with Illustrator again/a second time. I don't know why???? Fortunately Inkscape can handle it. Inkscape shows all my laborious changings. BUT: After I uploaded the file I realized, that firefox can NOT handle the svg.

South Sudan

South Sudan doesn't use the Death Penalty and therefore should be shown in orange colour. According to the constitution it is only allowed in "extremely serious offences". I suppose there will be no executions carried out. --SuperZebra (talk) 16:08, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

In the Category:Death penalty maps of the world you can find already Death Penalty World Map 2009 and Death Penalty World Map 2010. So Death Penalty World Map 2011 is missing. Russia, Mongolia and Fiji

Hello, I am not sure, if Fiji was updated (can´t see clear with all those island countries), however, they abolished death penalty ([1]). And Russia and Mongolia did not abolished it yet (in Mongolia it is planned for September 2016), they only stopped executing the sentenced. --Carolus requiescat (留言) 15:21, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

Many country are classified as "abolitionist in practice" (orange) while they should be "retentionist" (red) because, even though they did not carry out an execution in the last ten years, they are not "believed to have a policy or established practice of not carrying out executions."

The concerned countries are Comoros, Lesotho, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Guatemala, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Lebanon and Qatar.

Cuba - no executions the last 15 years

Cuba should be orange. They have not executed anyone since 2003. If the measure for "abolitionist in practice" is no executions the last 10 years, Cuba is abolitionist in practice.
