AWS Summit 2024 in Berlin!🇩🇪 In search of non GenAI topics.🕵️‍♂️ Last week I was at the AWS Summit with some #Brose colleagues. Once again, the Summit was fully booked. The location was great, but at its limits. 🏁Goals for me this year were: 1️⃣not only GenAI . Yes, to take a GenAI topic with me, but above all to look out for other topics. 2️⃣Exchange with well-known AWS employees and Partners. 3️⃣Strengthening the Brose internal exchange on AI, but also other topics from the AWS cosmos. I think it went quite well, the following topics were highlights for me: 🔝A presentation on Digital Robotic Workforce, how robots are sfinding their way into companies. 🔝A presentation on the DevOps platform at BMW and how professional software development is carried out there. 🔝A presentation on SAP on AWS, what can/should you expect? How complex would be a migration aso. 🔝A presentation on serverless vs. containers, when is the best time to use what. A very good exchange with AWS, partners and the internal Brose team. And so often when I see people using them it reminds me of the "Magic the Gathering" Card "Mindless Automaton" (the german translation is even more hilarious). Just automatically generated, flavorless, mindless phrases stitched together to form an amalgam of arbitrariness. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗲: • Zero emotions. • No opinion. • Just a waste of time. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁: 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: • Come up with a draft you can edit. • Gather your ideas. • Structure your thoughts. • Correct your mistakes (you'll find plenty here as this post is hand-written) 𝗢𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲: • Finetune a model with your body of work • Make it recreate your style   Then edit and adapt to make it truly your content. A great day with exciting insights and many good conversations lies behind us: This week, the #AWSAutomotiveSymposium took place in Munich. We presented our scenario generation solution, which uses the generative AI technologies of AWS AI. 😊🚗 The new scenario generation feature is based on a large language model (LLM) available on Amazon Bedrock, and a retrieval augmented generation (RAG) architecture that uses scenario data provided by dSPACE. This enables users to easily create a large number of complex and realistic scenarios by simply entering a textual scenario description. We also showed our customers how to scale their testing efforts with SIMPHERA and seamlessly test their HPC applications with the combination of VEOS and Graviton. 💻🔧 #scenarioGeneration #dSPACE #SIMPHERA #VEOS

AI innovation and adoption in Germany? This question was the focus of the panel discussion at the #futurework24 by BDA last week. Together with Saskia Dupré, Dr. Michael Drass and Cedric May, I had the opportunity to provide insights into how we are accelerating AI innovation in Germany. In further presentations and talks, experts such as BDA President Rainer Dulger, our Federal Minister of Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger and Andrea Nahles agreed: Germany needs companies that promote value creation and innovation in Germany, but also invest strongly in Germany. How do we tackle this challenge as IBM in the DACH market? 👉 Employing over 1300 researchers, data scientists and AI developers in our lab in Böblingen for innovation in our product watsonx.data (lakehouse) and the safe handling of AI through watsonx.governance. A large part of our product innovation was developed in Böblingen! 👉 Installation and commercial operation of the quantum computer at the headquarter in Germany - leading in quantum technology research together with our labs. 👉 Development of our own AI chips at the European Research Center in Rüschlikon, Switzerland, to create further infrastructure for the era of AI. And what is Germany’s status in regards to AI adoption? 👉 32% of surveyed German companies with more than 1,000 employees report that they actively use AI in their company; globally, 44% of companies do so mainly driven by India, China and the United Arab Emirates. 👉 Another 44% are currently experimenting with AI or exploring its use, but are not yet actively using their AI models; this is at least 4% more than the global average of 40% which makes me optimistic that Germany is accelerating the adoption of AI. 👉 52% of German companies that are already investigating or deploying AI report that they have accelerated their rollout or investment in the technology. --> More information about AI Adoption in our IBV study from IBM:  https://lnkd.in/daWh2C47 Many thanks also to Michael Pachmajer for the exciting panel in Berlin. The latest Bitkom Cloud Study once again confirms the importance of cloud technology for the digitalization and thus ultimately the competitiveness of German companies. The demand for cloud services continues to rise unabated, driven in particular by the digitalization of internal processes as well as AI and cybersecurity. The demand for AI applications alone will double in the next 5 years. 40% of companies are already relying on cloud-only or cloud-first strategies. Accordingly, cloud services will dominate IT in just a few years. It's a wrap, Big Data & AI World Frankfurt!   Yesterday, I had the pleasure to visit the Tech Show and Big Data & AI World in Frankfurt together with my colleagues Sven W. Simone Eichler and Alexander Schmied. I want to share my key takeaways:   📈 AI hype: We are currently at the top of the hype cycle and quite likely, there will be a (small) bump some time soon. Personally, I look forward to the phase after that - AI at scale! 🤝 Share your wisdom - make people listen - let them make their own mistakes - REPEAT! I had heard about some of the topics around 2020 already, but they are still relevant today because hearing about something like data products is not the same as bringing them to live. 🎉 There was an entire Data Strategy Theater --> we got the message! Data (and AI) strategy is fundamental and there are companies out there that really address data holistically and professionally - from a data program at Fiege Logistics (thanks, Marco Geuer) to ML maturity at Bumble (thanks, Massimo Belloni). I also particularly enjoyed the presentation by Julia Kersting about her work at Merck. ⏩ Data mesh as a concept is becoming more relevant and data fabric is here to support it on the technical level. Good thing we are already implementing #MicrosoftFabric with our customers.   I also got to meet two legends in their respective fields: Tijen Onaran for all things regarding #diversity and Carsten Bange for all things regarding #data - thank you for continuing to inspire us!

Without human-to-human interaction, there’s no success in AI. I recently sat down with two of our Bosch UX experts, Nadja Riedlberger and Vitali Fischbein for another issue of our internal Sofa Session series. Nadja and Vitali shared insights into how they bring UX into #AI, as well as AI into #UX – both is very important for success. Two key takeaways were: 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Talk to your users and get feedback! It’s not enough to just implement a new technology and hope for the best. We must actively seek user input both before and after implementation. And then based on the feedback refine and enhance the experience. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Generative AI: Huge potential, but it takes a human touch to unlock it. By sharing our successes and 'aha!' moments, we can collectively unlock the full power of AI for everyone. I really enjoyed our sofa session chat, Nadja and Vitali! Thanks for sharing your valuable impulses and your passion for user-centered technology with us. Of course, also a big thank you to André Brüggemann TAPEMATE, Linda Gramer, and Fabian Assmann – our team behind the scenes – for setting up another fantastic Sofa Session!👏
