Re:Page moves

Yeah, took forever. I'm guessing that guy was a sockpuppet. Horrible business. =) Looking at your logs, it seems you've been busy with the tools. ;) Malinaccier (talk) 15:02, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The four phase system

Your coaching was a new system developed by myself in an attempt to maximize the benefits of coaching by discovering strengths and weakness more efficiently and effectively. You were the first user who has been coached in this manner, and as it has been highly beneficial, I am going to push it as one of the main methods of coaching.

I've made a sub-page for it at User:Malinaccier/The four phase system. I've basically used all the questions that I asked you during coaching, and will continue to add questions as I think of them or use them during coaching. I'd now like to ask you a few things (haha, you thought you got out of answering questions when you finished coaching =P):

1. May I use your coaching page as a direct example on the page?
  • Certainly
2. Was the coaching process especially stressful?
  • No, not at all. Then again, I’ve learned how to not sweat the small stuff.
3. Do you believe the coaching was beneficial?
  • Yes. And since my RfA passed the first time with 98% support…
4. In what ways could the process be improved?
  • The only thing that comes to mind is that you might want to give specific feedback on more of the student’s answers and statements.

Don't worry about answering this right away, but please do if you have the time. Thanks a lot, Malinaccier (talk) 03:25, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

::Yes. No. Yes. Huh? (But not necessarily in that order.) :D

Gimme until at least Saturday morning to get back to you on these, if you don’t mind. —Travistalk 03:44, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, thanks! Malinaccier (talk) 03:46, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to be putting a lot of time and work into the Admin coaching area, and this helps me a lot. Maybe you should get involved in coaching...Malinaccier (talk) 15:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve been considering it, actually. —Travistalk 15:22, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, I've never really thought of having an assistant coach. I think that it would be pretty beneficial having two sets of minds assessing the situation. Plus, I think it would be fun to work with you again =). Right now I'm coaching Gtstricky (talk · contribs) here, and I've started the same plan that I have with you, plus some additions. I've already provided you with a link to my strategy page, and whatever changes or additions you would like to make would be welcome. I'll tell Gtstricky that you'll be joining us, and in the meantime think of a good way to integrate you into the whole process. Thanks a lot! Malinaccier (talk) 02:17, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia: Articles for Deletion/SkyOS

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/SkyOS&diff=195806331&oldid=195624705

No, I did not author that vote; A305w did. As I said in the edit note, you attributed that vote to me (intending, I assume, to add the attribution to a comment I made at the same time), and then several days later marked it as a duplicate. It is not my vote, nor is it a duplicate, hence my revision, which I am un-undoing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alex Forster (talkcontribs) 06:11, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Well, you’re right. Somehow I thought that you made that edit, but after going through the history again I see that I was wrong. I edited the discussion page to show the correct entries. I’m really sorry for making a false accusation against you. —Travistalk 14:38, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey coach! I know you are probably busy playing with your new admin tools but I agreed to help a new editor with an COI article she had written on herself. She is an author of 4 or 5 books. I chopped the article down and have been trying to get it into a version that can be used. I am having a real hard time meeting the WP:BIO requirements. I can not find anything on her. I am tempted to stub it down but with no references at all it will be gone. Would you mind giving me a second opinion on if it can be salvaged? Thanks GtstrickyTalk or C 19:39, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ahh, well then. On Google, when you ignore Wikipedia and her own website, you’re pretty much left with a bunch of book store links. Not only that, but guessing from the subject and the username, this is an autobiography. All boiled down, if this article were listed for AfD, I would have to say delete. Certainly, the Google test isn’t infallible, but there isn’t anything to show that she is notable. YMMV, though. —Travistalk 00:58, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal

Just to let you know that I blocked this IP. I saw your note about the lack of a final warning, but the contributions seem to indicate a returning vandal (albeit that it seems likely to be a school IP). Just wanted to let you know, in case you have any concerns. Cheers TigerShark (talk) 22:38, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for catching that vandal to my userpage. I only regret that now you've blocked him, he'll come back to vandalize your user page. Thanks a lot, Malinaccier Public (talk) 12:16, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Part-Dieu English-language dispute

Thanks for taking a look at the edit-war at Gare de Lyon-Part-Dieu. Unfortunately, User:Johnnie390 has resumed changing the language variant again. Would you mind taking another look? Jkatzen (talk) 13:23, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes, I did notice that he changed it back. And from his disdain for american[sic] spelling, I can guess at his POV. However, I don’t feel comfortable taking this any further than what I’ve already done. (I only became an admin this month and don’t want to overstep my bounds, plus I’m American.) I suggest that you ask for a third opinion and, if that doesn’t work and you still feel like pursuing it, take it up the dispute resolution ladder. I’m sorry I couldn’t solve it for you and best of luck. —Travistalk 14:00, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another Coachee

Hey, I just took another coachee. (WBOSITG (talk · contribs)). If you want to help out with his coaching too, then feel free to jump in here. Of course you don't have to, especially if you feel that one coaching project is enough for you (plus you just got the tools and are probably still slightly acclimating to them). Thanks, Malinaccier (talk) 15:46, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I saw that. I think that I’ll stick with the one coachee for now. Also, I want to let you know that I’ll be without internet access from the 16th through the 19th. —Travistalk 15:59, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. Happy editing! =) Malinaccier (talk) 16:07, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The prototype article you suggested on the help desk

Hi. I put the article and some info on my userspace as you suggested. User:LoserNo1/The_Game_(game). Any further suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks. LoserNo1 (talk) 00:06, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I’m assuming that the original article is The Game (Game), correct? I can restore the deleted versions to your userspace if you want to compare your version to them. —Travistalk 00:18, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great. By the way, I think it is The Game (game), the second "g" is not capitalised in case that makes any difference. Thanks. LoserNo1 (talk) 00:24, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh... Yes, well both have existed and have been deleted numerous times. Give me a while and I’ll pull out a few of the most reasonable examples. —Travistalk 00:32, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
