Death paragraph

[edit]

The date of his death is needed to be changed. According to his family's commentaries he died in 21 of January 2020 Ivanprima99 (talk) 13:04, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed Ivanprima99 (talk) 13:05, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone please clarify when he died? Some sources say Saturday, some say Monday and some say Tuesday! Which is correct? Is is highly irritating watching the death date being changed back and forth all the time...194.69.14.58 (talk) 14:13, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, various usually-reliable sources have been quoting different dates for his death. However the statement from his family says it was in the evening of the 21st (UK time) and at the moment the article reflects this. Neiltonks (talk) 14:16, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure, I thought it was the 21st but I just heard that his agent said it was 20th CosmicRoxy (talk) 19:02, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I know that WP has to be correct with dates. But for the record, Terry Jones hadn't been Terry Jones for a few years. RIP — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:EA01:1090:418C:675D:415:1FFE (talk) 22:13, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. Dementia is very cruel. Neiltonks (talk) 08:45, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"the team's first film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

[edit]

The team's first film was And Now for Something Completely Different. Kostaki mou (talk) 15:19, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, And Now for Something Completely Different was released in both UK and US. Martinevans123 (talk) 15:22, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tributes

[edit]

A large number of fellow comics and actors have paid tribute to Jones. Some, such as Michael Palin, have appeared on TV with their tributes. Should any of these be added? Note the documentary Monty Python: And Now for Something Rather Similar was re-aired at 11.15 on BBC2 last night: [1]. Martinevans123 (talk) 15:11, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New infobox photo?

[edit]

I was rather aghast when I saw the disembodied hand on Mr. Jones' shoulder in the current infobox photo. Surely there must be something better on Commons? AleatoryPonderings (talk) 15:14, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@AleatoryPonderings: Feel free to replace it with an alternate freely licensed image. There's a bunch at c:Category:Terry Jones. -- Whpq (talk) 15:44, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Whpq,  Done. The new image is perhaps less striking, but doesn't have the strangely cropped hand. On balance, I'd say it's an improvement. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 15:59, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
