"Thesmophoriazusae" (Θεσμοφοριάζουσαι, Thesmophoriazousai), or "Women of the festival of Thesmophoria", is a comedy written by Aristophanes, and first produced in 411 BCE. The play is considered one of Aristophanes' best parodies of Athenian society, with a particular focus on the subversive role of women in a male-dominated society, the vanity of contemporary poets, and the shameless, enterprising vulgarity of an ordinary Athenian.
