The example I love using is the following... Imagine going to a Michelin star restaurant. You having an amazing chef (YOU) preparing the best food in the kitchen. If the chef just throws the food all over the plate, would the customer (YOUR MANAGER) appreciate the amazing food prepared? It come's down to the way it's presented. Content is important - absolutely. However the way we present it is more important. 1. Try focus on 3 key points per slide. 2. Utilize previous templates. 3. Use simple charts, graphs or stats to help land your message better. Less is more ;)

For me, I’m not working to impress anyone. I simply do my job with passion. If I get promoted, that’s great. If not, I’ll look for another opportunity where I feel more valued and appreciated.

Just to impress manager, "skills" required can't be discussed here :). However for quick visuals, use AI (Artificial intelligence)

Staying focused on the purpose and end goal of the presentation is most important. Having a full grip on the content and the messages is more crucial than some imported data points or visuals to make it look rich without any meaningful context. Presentation is an art which means it doesn’t have a prescribed definition of wow, for some audience it could be keeping it as simple as possible while for some it’s appreciated as elaborated as it could be. The bottomline is that as long as the audience enjoys and engages to every second of it and is eager to have you present again or what you’ve got under the sleeve next, consider the job as done beautifully. A perfect analogy would a movie which is expected to have a sequel.

You can quickly add charts or graphs to highlight key points and do a quick Google image search for visuals that match your message. Adding icons related to your slide titles can also make the message clear and visually appealing.

Here are a few tips- 1. Unsplash can be your best friend for high quality, unique stock photos. 2. Pixabay is another great resource for stock and copyright-free content. (This site also has a lot of awesome royalty free tunes.) 3. AI is already changing this landscape and with any number of AI tools you may generate a unique image.

Given my manager's expertise, skills, and experience, it's clear that he has a deeper understanding of what makes an effective presentation. A brief discussion with him about the required content would undoubtedly save a significant amount of time. Depending on the presentation's requirements, we can explore different approaches. If high visuals are needed, we can leverage AI tools. For data-oriented presentations, a simple and neat graphical representation often works well. Ultimately, the requirement should dictate the content and presentation style

Consider the difference between food neatly arranged in a bento box and those same ingredients thrown together on a plate. The bento box is organized and easy to navigate, while the plate requires more time and effort to make sense of each component. This analogy can be applied to your slides. Take a moment to review your content and organize it into complementary boxes with pale grey borders. If time permits, enhance with relevant icons. Bold key headings in branded colours, bullet supporting points and ensure boxes are aligned and evenly spaced using the alignment and distribution buttons. This will instantly elevate your deck while helping your audience connect with your ideas - the ultimate goal of any presentation.

To quickly incorporate visuals into your presentation, focus on the following key points. 1. Use templates or slide design tools like Canva or PowerPoint SmartArt to add professional graphics. 2. Replace dense text with charts or infographics to illustrate data trends effectively. 3. Insert relevant icons or images to emphasize ideas and keep slides visually appealing. 4. Ensure visuals align with your message and don’t overwhelm the content. 5. Use screenshots or real-world photos for authenticity if time is short. 6. Practice transitions to integrate visuals smoothly into your narrative. This strategic use of visuals will make your presentation engaging and impressive for your manager.
-
To quickly add visuals to your presentation: 1. Icons: Use icons from Flaticon or Icons8 for bullet points. 2. Charts: Create quick graphs in PowerPoint or Excel. 3. Infographics: Use Canva or Visme to summarize data. 4. Images: Add relevant photos from Unsplash or Pexels. 5. SmartArt: Turn lists into diagrams in PowerPoint. 6. Templates: Apply a pre-made slide design. 7. Highlights: Use colors or arrows to emphasize key points. These steps are fast and impactful.
