Loving the Sonnet preview. Few things I've noticed is it is more aggressive at changing things outside the scope of the query. This can be good and bad, depending on the context. On the good side, it will often add code that directly relates to the task, on a line that is appropriate. However, sometimes it changes things, seemingly, arbitrarily. Biggest downside is it takes a lot longer than GPT 4o, tho it is similar to o1. Sometimes I feel that it is because it is over-zealous reading context of very large files, even if I only highlight a few lines. Would like a "mini" version of Sonnet, if that ever becomes feasible. |

According to another comment, the Claude support is only for chat mode at the moment, which isn't a supported mode on the vim plugin |

I have tested and asked copilot itself. And got answer, it's same as any other model 4k in 4 out and overall for entire chat is 8k tokens. |

Claude 3.5 Sonnet is capable for 200k context, but limited to 150k over GitHub copilot from my experience. |

Why so big delay? Vscode is not good for Android/Flutter or Go so I use Android Studio and Golang. It would be great to have support there. I won't switch to vscode just because you delay features. |

This along with multi-file editing would be really awesome in Jetbrains IDEs.
To be fair, Github Copilot is an MS product that is monetized. I don't use VS Code (except when experimenting with upcoming copilot features, heh) but as far as I know, it's completely free. Does VS Code integrate deeply with other monetized MS products where this sort of ulterior motive would make sense? IMHO, I totally get why the Jetbrains plugin is second class. After all, with both VS Code and Copilot now being MS owned you get good vertical integration. Although I still wish they released new features on the Jetbrains IDE side as quickly/aggressively as they do with VS Code. I'm not quite so bearish on it as you are, though, since MS does at least have a financial incentive to support it, given there are hardcore users such as us who can't live without it but also want to both use and pay for GH Copilot. 😁 |

2 months later and not a hint. The single thread chat with no memory and ancient code suggestion model are more than useless, they introduce more problems than they fix. I will not switch to VS code, it's inferior in so many ways. If you want to force people to your products, at least make something competitive. |

It seems to be only chat still, yes. However, there is a setting for "Selected Completion Model", which takes a "model ID", but I can't figure out how to find the model ID's. |

For some reason I can't select Sonnet (or anything besides the default model) in Copilot/Visual Studio. I've enabled Sonnet in my Github Copilot settings about 12 hours ago, restarted VS, booted my PC, etc - but nothing. Why could that be? Thank you! |

It is said that in 17.12 https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/releases/2022/release-notes model changing is supported. However, there is no such pick, and Claude is not mentioned. Release notes seem misleading.

Same issue. Claude enabled in Copilot policies -> was not available in vs code -> restarted vs code -> still not available -> reinstalled extension -> still not available -> Updating VS code fixed this issue for me. |

Same issue for my org. Preview feature is enabled and some engineers are seeing the model selection, but most are not. We have confirmed vs code versions, chat logs, extension versions, etc... We also tried logging out of GitHub and some have reinstalled vs code. Still no dropdown. |

This is an unfinished program that cannot set up a Telegram bot. The real Sonnet doesn't lag like what you have in your program. I spent 5 hours and made no progress. Llama 3.3 is much better than what you call Sonnet. |

They can call it Claude 3.5 Sonnet (Preview) but in practice it's just not the same Claude 3.5 Sonnet we get from Anthropic itself. |

I have already tested Claude Sonnet in the Cursor IDE, and honestly, it's fantastic for helping with development. However, there are small things that force me to switch between applications. I think it would be a great idea for you to take a closer look at the interface and make it more similar to Cursor. Visual Studio Code has become much slower when running code. For example, when generating Markdown files, the chat formatting turns out completely messy. I hope that moving forward, I can continue using VSC, but only if the interface and speed become similar to the other IDE. |

Claude 3.5 Sonnet has some problems with deleting the existing code. It makes an edit but forgets to delete the old code. Over time, this breaks a lot of things. |

Could the agent mode incorporate an auto-execution option similar to Cursor or Windsurf's implementation? Specifically, this could include both unconditional automatic execution and AI model-determined execution where the system assesses whether to proceed autonomously. |
