"Subterranea" by American author W. Elwyn Backus, first published in the November 1931 edition of Weird Tales magazine, tells of a strange land lying several miles beneath the Egyptian Pyramids.

"Caverns of Horror" by Laurence Manning, first published in the March 1934 edition of Wonder Stories. “Well, then, how about devils? Might they really exist down below?”

"The People of the Pit" by Abraham Merritt, first appeared in All-Story Weekly in its January 1918 edition, and tells of a man's return from a terrifying voyage into the depths of the Earth.

"The Secret of Lost Valley" by Robert E. Howard, first appeared in the Spring 1967 edition of Startling Mystery Stories. “There in the depths of Ghost Cave, he heard the dragging footsteps of the man he had just killed…”

"Lost in a Pyramid; or, The Mummy's Curse" by Louisa May Alcott, first published in The New World, 1869, tells of an encounter with something ancient under the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Yog-Sothoth. The thought of something lurking beyond time and space, seeing and knowing everything and all in existence at any given time, is deeply unsettling and yet fascinating. This outermost, outerworldly feeling is being transported in a good way. Part 1 is good, but Part 2 indeed sounds like I would imagine The Lurker at the Threshold to feel, if he felt anything. An outerworldly, cosmic and desolate piece of dark ambient. David Fischer
