This brand-new, spoopy-themed Halloween release was definitely not on my radar. But, after hearing hushed whispers and local legends about the Dungeon Synth subreddit's annual 'Dungeon Shamble Challenge', I just had to finally give it a go!

Here are the rules of the challenge which this release was created under:

🎃 Pick 1 concept to base the album around: either a) an alchemist who makes some sort of breakthrough in the study of fungus and needs test subjects; or b) an undead skeleton dance-party

🕸️ Music must be recorded start to finish between Oct 1st and Oct 31st

🎃 Total permitted instruments/patches: 8 (including drums)

🕸️ Total Songs: 8-11

🎃 Total album length: 15-23 mins

🕸️ Style: Halloween/Spooky/Pumpkin Synth

🎃Optional side quest: Add at least a bit of distortion/fuzz/overdrive to each instrument

I went for the alchemist mushroom theme, but of course with my own twist. The EP details the old, frail but powerful alchemist witch Merceiya as she nears the end of her life. In order to appease the order of witches and restore her youth, she accidentally discovers a unique mutation of Agaricales during her experiments and spells.
The new hybrid mushroom, infused with evil, will turn anyone who consumes it into a demon! And so her plan is set in motion. Will she be able to convert the entire townsfolk into demons and use them to absorb each other's youth and turn back the clock?
