LittleJS Engine is a lightweight open source HTML5 game engine for modern web development. It's small footprint is packed with a comprehensive feature set including hybrid rendering, physics, particles, sound effects, music, and input handling. The code is very clean and well documented with some fun examples to get you started.
Q: Can I work in a team?
A: Yes, team submissions are welcome!
Q: Does my game need to work in a web browser?
A: Yes, you must submit an HTML project that will be embedded on the itch page for your game.
Q: Can I use external assets?
A: Yes, you can use external assets as long as you have the right to use them.
Q: Can I submit a game I’ve already started?
A: You can start with a partially completed prototype but the majority of the game must be completed during the jam.
Q: Do I need to share my source code?
A: No, it is not required, but encouraged to post source files on GitHub for others to learn from.
Q: Can I still update my game during the voting period?
A: Yes! You can still make changes for any reason including bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, or art changes. Keep in mind that it may be too late for anyone that has already played or voted on your game.
Q: Can I use AI to help make my game?
A: Yes! You can use AI for any purpose including art, music, and code. If you do, please share what tools you used for others to learn from.
All prize dollar amounts will be awarded as Steam or Amazon gift cards. To make things easier for organizers and participants, no cash will be paid out for this contest.
