In a blizzard of noise-speckled, ice-cold beatdowns from the London underground, Sneaker Social Club welcomes back Ivy Lab to the fold. The 20/20 LDN squad build upon their renewed focus on brittle, incisive uptempo dancefloor gear for the gritty end of the night.

If the Ivy Lab sound was initially forged on low-slung, experimental flips on the downtempo beats spectrum, their recent moves have pointed towards an embrace of the multi-faceted shapes of contemporary club music. It’s an area of investigation where abrasive noise, needlepoint sound design and bruising low-end reach across the stylistic divides for a hard-bitten vision of the here and now.

From the scathing mids and tops of ‘OURDOGISMISSING’ via the densely packed jungle tekno abstraction of ‘Torpedo’ on to the high octane drum flex of ‘12345’, this is a razor sharp, ear-snagging blast of dancefloor modernism from a crew with their own twisted vision of what slaps on a system.
