Back in 1998, we thought the old & forgotten jazz, soul & funk obscurities that we love should have a chance to stand out on their own, without being lost, bootlegged or propped up by other songs on a comp. And so we released our first Jazzman 45.

To make an impact we started with something extra special - the obscure and esoteric Kathleen Emery 'Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child'. And we sold all 1000 copies in no time! Now the Jazzman issue of this sells for around $25, and the original pressing on Love records can fetch over $400!

So, to celebrate our 50th Jazzman release, Kathleen Emery is available once more, and with an exclusive Quantic remix on the flip!
