Morning

Morning, morning
Cobweb mouth is yawning
Come out from under your heavy dreams dear
Nose to nose you
Nice to know you
Don't let the covers seam you to your lazy haziness
Your sleepy, hazy, dayziness
Morning, morning
Over a dirty wall, light dawning
A loving look from a strange familiar face
When you throw your eyes out like you do
Nets are strewn out in the blue
And I know you're out to capture me too
Morning, morning
The luggage of sense is stalling
Stability carried like a weight upon the heart
I suggest we leave it behind us
But 'tis only the high that's inside me today
I'll collect it tomorrow night
Alone in the dark
But we only have a couple of hours
Left to kill the time
Or let it live on,
It don't commit no crime
Oh we only have a couple of hours
Left in internal rhyme
But the end is around the bend dear
Goodbye is nigh
Morning, morning
Rusty voices soaring
Like tattered kites we saunter on the wind
We saunter on the wind
Saunter on the wind

Mantlepiece
05:47

Pull my cap over my noggin',
To keep my ears from the cold and people talking.
It's a cold and blustery evening,
And I'd rather stay inside.
Stare at the picture on the mantlepiece,
The people there don't have a care,
Don't need to be anywhere.
Ah the frame will let them live in peace,
Live in peace.
Singing:
'Lalalalala...
Life is sweet'
Wouldn't it be nice if we could lay there,
Where the waves meet the rocks in wispy air?
And I'd run my fingers through your hair,
And you'd cradle me.
But you're up north surrounded in concrete,
And I'm lost in a forest of dead leaves.
The whole world's moving in tsunami
And we're just pebbles deposited on the beach.
Singing:
'Lalalalala...
Life is sweet.'
So I close the door behind me,
But I'm dreaming of the picture
And all the colours of the world I could have used.
And I've conscripted to the army,
Of the everyday.
I've stepped on board of this bandwagon
And I can't get off until it stops again.
It's gonna take a while before then,
So I guess I'll just enjoy the ride.
Singing:
'Lalalalala...
Life is sweet.'

Stuck Upon the Staircase
06:04
|

I watch the sunlight on my own
And how it ripples in the wind's shadow
I'd love to call you up and let you know
I think you'd like to hear
How the day dances on my wall
Teasing me, then it falls
Whimpering on the floor
I'd just like to tell you
That I don't regret a day
From the moment our young bodies
Got caught up upon the staircase
Not quite knowing whether to descend or escalate
So we stayed
Enchanted by one another's faces
But dreaming of far-off places
And it's hard to know where life would take us
Either way
Either way
I watch the moon with other boys
Feel like a child playing with forbidden toys
When I think of what we had
Oh it makes me sad
Oh it makes me oh sad
But the eclipse and the lunatic
They drove me mad
Drove me mad
I'd just like to tell you
That I don't regret a day
From the moment our young bodies
Got caught up upon the staircase
Not quite knowing whether to descend or escalate
So we stayed
Enchanted by one another's faces
But dreaming of far-off places
And it's hard to know where life would take us
Either way
I'm in pain
