Into The Heart Of Atikka

Copenhagen-based producers Susanne Cleworth and John Cleworth depart from the dancefloor in favor of trippy old-school trance on their debut EP ‘Into the Heart Of Atikka’ - the first journey onto and into planet Atikka. Each track name evokes images of traveling into the heart of the planet.

Susanne and John improvised jams while they were on tour in Japan and Australia in 2023, which later evolved into four tracks. While Atikka's style typically leans towards a more modern, faster-paced dance-floor-friendly vibe, for their debut EP, they aimed to offer music tailored more to the home listening experience.

Musically, the album combines trippy soundscapes with repetitive compositional structures, evoking associations with 90’s old-school trance. The first two tracks take you on a chill journey to planet Atikka, while track 3 pulls the listener onto the extra- terrestrial dance floor, culminating in a tranquil ambient experience on the final track.

The graphic is a photo taken from their trip to Japan, close to a shrine they found hidden within a cliff. The graphic is well-suited to the music - organic, blurred, and trippy. Each track name directly relates to the graphic in some way.
