📢 New Guidelines on Redemption Plans by the EBA Under MiCAR The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published its final Guidelines aimed at ensuring the smooth redemption of token holders during times of issuer crisis. Targeting asset-referenced tokens (ARTs) and e-money tokens (EMTs), these Guidelines outline the requirements for issuers to create a comprehensive redemption plan. This plan should address essential aspects such as: 💰 Asset reserve liquidation strategies, 🗺️ Mapping of critical activities, 📝 Details of redemption claims, 🔄 The redemption process steps, and ⚠️ Triggers for activating the plan by the competent authority. Following feedback from the public consultation, the EBA has made these adjustments to provide flexibility, allowing certain guidance on asset reserve liquidation for ART issuers to be applicable to some extent to EMT issuers as well.
