JayMF I'm in love with this album one of my two favourites this year along with Plantoid - Terrapath. Ever since I discovered Nolan both Music is Dead and Nightmare Forever have been in very regular rotation. Progressive psych is where I get my kicks nowadays and this album hits all the right spots. Melodic, jazzy time changes, guitar tones to make you weep. That the instrumentation is 95% one man makes this man marvel. Favorite track: Reflect On Your Nectar.

exodunio #1 album od 2024. Simply amazing from start to finish. Mastepiece in combining prog and psych.

dharmatrails Power pop, rock, prog and psych sounds? Sure. All through the skewed and melodic lens of Nolan Potter. I love all Nolan Potter albums, and this one does not disappoint! Favorite track: Do I Have to Tick Your Tock?.
Barren Glaz

Barren Glaz The way the 3/4 + 5/4 pattern holds a groove has yet to be topped. Absolutely going in my #1 album of the year, let alone the track "Kevin Help Us" going for #1 track. Favorite track: Kevin Help Us.

What do I have to say? Is there anything I can do? Do I have to punch a clock? Do I have to tick your tock? Well done you You sure showed them And all it cost you was life Where do I gotta go To find me some peace of mind? Who do I have to sue To get my piece of pie? It flies in the face of reason To make a body choose There ain’t no choice at all There ain’t nothin to lose Well done you You made the grade And all it cost you was time When will you ever learn To bust through the facade? Thought you were born to burn Thought you looked just like god Thought you were the voice of reason You’ve abandoned reason now You let the madness in You’ll have to show me how (Like this) Yeah!

Another summer gone The rain that waters the lawn The lawn that shelters the toad The toad that lives on barley The toad that lives on barley Then on a winter’s night Another nail to bite Another day to dream The mold that grows on Harvey The mold that grows on Harvey We know living is a miracle It’s all we know It’s all we know They say everything’s a miracle It’s all they say It’s all they know It’s all they know A cupboard full of noise Another pile of toys To keep away the storm The storm that rolls on softly The storm that rolls on softly The storm that rolls on softly We know living is a miracle It’s all we know It’s all we know We know nothing is a miracle It’s all explained It’s all we know We know nothing is a miracle Miracle… Miracle We know nothing is a miracle (It’s digital) Miracle (Our ritual) Miracle (How mystical)

Prepare to meet thine inspector You must be the connector You must reflect on your nectar Whip it into soft peaks You’ve got to lay it down all evenin’ And give yourself every reason After all it’s the seasonin’ That makes it so sweet As I was tending my sweaters To resurrect my deflectors I saw the hole thing was better With your head on my sleeve And I may play like a boomer I might go down with a tumor When your whole life is a rumor In the end it must be Prepare to meet thine inspector You must be the connector You must reflect on your nectar Whip it into soft peaks You’ve got to lay it down all evenin’ And give yourself every reason After all it’s the seasonin’ That makes life so sweet That makes life so sweet That makes love so sweet That makes life so sweet

If I’m living Trapped inside a head I could be forgiven For feeling alone And if I’m stuck behind a face I might try to replace myself My mind is on my mind But no one’s listening They have no ears An eye within an eye Fear within fear If I’m living Trapped inside a head I could be forgiven For feeling alone If we’re living All connected underground We might give in To another sound And if I’m stuck behind a face I might try to replace myself My mind is on my mind But no one wants it They’re not for real An eye within an eye A wheel within a wheel Yeah

about

theperilsofbeingtrappedinsideahead.tiiny.site

Nolan Potter's latest offering "The Perils of Being Trapped Inside a Head" picks up where 2021's "Music is Dead" left off. Highly personal and relentlessly DIY, "Perils" runs the gamut of Potter's pleasantly-skewed musical points of view.
